Great Place to Visit (or live)

Fredrick is a delightful place to visit full of character, history, shops and restaurants to mention just a few of it's charms. The Carroll Creek is another reason to visit and enjoy. The creek has beautiful water lilies, ducks and sculptures. Often called 'Little Philadelphia', the architecture is colonial and civil war with beautiful brick buildings and newer buildings as well. An active arts community and foodie destination, a city full of history, a minor league baseball stadium, a community airport, festivals...you need to visit!

Step back in time architecturally but 21st century food and shops
I love go g to downtown Frederick walking the streets of this colonial era town. One can see homes from the 1th, 18th and 19th century in just a few blocks. Then when you get hungry you can eat at one of the many fantastic ladies o ally owned restaurant restaurants . Lovely way at to spend an afternoon or evening.

Great architecture, shops, museums, and small restaurants
I love downtown Frederick. The creek walk is a gem. Beautiful and unique bridges, fountains (though none were working n March), art work. People were friendly and the weather happened to be perfect on our visit. Most of the restaurants along the creek were not open but we happily sat on a bench and people watched. We left this area to walk the rest of the downtown area. We visited the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, ate lunch at Wags, stopped in a few shops and just marveled at the architecture. If you like to leave your car and just walk from your motel the Super 8 is a perfect place to stay. The visitor center is on your way in town.
