4.5Moerenuma Park(841 reviews) - Beautiful Landscape during Winter Monday: 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Parks
Moerenuma Park is a landscape sculpture Mecca designed by Isamu Noguchi offering distinctive expressions of the four seasons Moerenuma Park is designed by sculpture artist Isamu Noguchi as a work of sculpture art in itself. The park was reborn from a waste disposal site and transformed into an art park representative of Sapporo over a period of 23 years. The grand scale of this project earned it the name “landscape sculpture.” Visitors can enjoy different scenery depending on the time of the day and season. Instead of picturing yourself in a park, you should probably think of yourself as being inside a huge sculpture piece.See more..
4.0Nakajima Park(765 reviews) - Get ready to view the cherry blossoms Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Parks
Nakajima Park is only three stops frorm downtown Sapporo on the subway. It is a beautiful park. In autumn, the leaves turn idfferent colours art different times, with shades of red, orange and yellow making a colourful display.. As Sapporo is in the far north of Japan, so spring comes later -- the cherry blosoms bloom in April. Najajima Park is a great place to view the cherry blossoms or "sakura" as they are called in Japanese. The park also hosts the Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara and a tribute to the US conductor and music educaor, Leonard BernsteinSee more..
To reach the park, take subway to Makomanai station (Namboku line) and walk to bus station Platform 2. Ride on bus No.106 (¥440) and stop at the final stop at the entrance of the park. I suggest you to visit as early as possible, probably before 10:00 as the bus comes every 1 hour and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Also, do take note that the last bus bound for Makomanai station from Takino Suzuran park is around 15:30. Do check the time for the last bus bound for Makomanai subway station at the information counter at the park.See more..
4.0Maruyama Park(380 reviews) - Maruyama Park Highlight of our Trip Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Parks
I visited Maruyama Park during February and there was so much snow here. I mainly came to see the temples and pine trees blanketed in snow and it did not disappoint. The paths for the most part were clear but you still walk on snow, so come prepared. There were many people here enjoying the various snow activities. Me, I just enjoyed the Winter Wonderland. I believe this park is beautiful any time of year, but glad I came during the winter.See more..
3.5Asahikawa Ramen Village(370 reviews) - It's all about the yummy ramen! Monday: 11:00 AM - 8:00 AM Amusement & Theme Parks
Eating ramen on a cold day, you can't go wrong with that. Plenty of ramen shops to choose from. There are menus outside each shop, so it makes things easier for people. Inside, the sitting area is decent enough. Size wise, it's about the same for all shops. You are spoilt for choice as there are a variety of ramen and side dishes to choose from. It can be pretty packed if you were to come during peak hours especially lunch time. You can take a sneak peak at each shop if you want. Give it a try, if you love your ramen.See more..
4.0Noboribetsu Date Historic Village(345 reviews)from $19.50 - Entertaining Monday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Amusement & Theme Parks • Points of Interest & Landmarks
We took a public bus from Noboribetsu Onsen Terminal to the park. Do note there are only few bus timing to the park throughout the day, appropriately once per hour. You may check the bus schedule at either Onsen Terminal or JR Noboribetsu Station. The public bus do allow to carry huge luggages on board, or alternatively you may use the lockers at the JR station if you doing a day trip. The entry price is JPY2900 for adult, there are plenty of lockers outside the park that you can deposit your luggages. The park is slightly smaller than the other we have visited elsewhere in Japan. Once you enter the park, there are two rows of shop houses selling food and gifts. There are 2 Japanese restaurants, and some snack counters. Price is slightly higher but still reasonable. There are 3 theaters - Ninja, Cultural, Samurai shows. Best show among the three is the Ninja show. Follow the above sequence you should finished all 3 show by 12:30pm. If time constraint, just go for the Ninja show. There are 3 trick house - Ninja, Japanese Cat and Horror houses. I find all are quite entertaining. At the far end of the village, there is a photo studio. I'm not sure if it is in operation as it seems under renovation, but we went in to take a few photos anyway. There is also a tower, which only allow to walk up to second level, and some display area showing lifestyle of average population during Edo era. We didn't try the two game houses, as there is additional JPY500 per game. Overall, it is clean, well maintained, beautiful and entertaining place to visit. We stay from 10am - 4pm till the almost closing time. Do queue up for the shows about 10-15mins in advance. You will be surprised by sudden huge tourist crowd sent in coaches. See more..

We ate at a restaurant within the park, and it was tasty/enjoyable. Parking was easy and the park was lovely and quiet - we went on a Monday during term time. Can't help missing this park while walking through town as you notice the steam well before you get there. It sits right on an intersection and there are numerous colourful clubs from the local monster set in the ground, there is also a small chimney like construction belting out steam from below then more or less under the intersection there has been like a cave constructed around this small pool and this Geyser keeps erupting every few hours spouting water as high as 8 metres into the air,it is very hot about 80 degrees. It goes on for about 50 minutes each time, there is a lot of thumping noise with it as well. Quite a site and interesting to witness. I guess it is letting of pressure, maybe if it stops then it is time to worry.See more..
4.0Wakkanai Park(163 reviews) - Worth the hike, even in winter. Parks
I really enjoyed my snowy walk up the hill to see the park and get the view of the city. I was the only person there and the solitude was nice.See more..
It was snowing very heavily the day we made the trip to this beautiful park. At the gate, we almost wanted to turn back because there was not a single visitor in sight. I was afraid we would be trapped in a snow storm. After checking with one of the staff, I decided to brave the snow shower. Onuma was an attraction I was determined to visit after my first visit in Dec 2016. This time, it was still as beautiful. The thick blanket of snow made the place look very alluring. It was a sight for me as a Singaporean since I live in a tropical country. Another reason to visit Onuma was to sit at Rivage. Unfortunately despite making several attempts to locate the restaurant in the thick snow, I couldn’t find the place. I was disappointed! I wish there were clearer signs in extreme snow condition to guide visitors. Take a morning train to this national park. Spend 3-4 hours strolling leisurely. See more..
4.5Mina-Mina Beach(134 reviews) - Wonderful break from skiing Monday: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Water Parks
What an amazing place! Massive wave pool separated into various sections where you can swim, play, walk a tight rope and SUP. There are also a number of hot spas which we also enjoyed. The facilities are clean, the lockers are numerous and easy to use, there are inflatables to use, plenty of sun loungers and a couple of cafes. It was a wonderful respite from skiing! There is a regular bus service from the nearby resorts. Many of the hotels offer complimentary passes to Mina Mina as well.See more..

Mid-end may is the best time to soak in the sights of the beautiful shibazakura flowers. Coming from takinoue park, we initially wanted to skip this place as we thought it couldnt get better. We were so wrong. Higashimokoto was massive and absolutely stunning! Unlike takinoue park where u pay directly from your car, Higashimokoto requires you to buy the entrance tickets from the admission booths (500¥). Plenty of parking was available as well. Within the park, there are many stalls selling quick bites. You can even hop on a quick go kart ride (5 minutes for about 300¥) or even take a helicopter ride. For those too lazy or unable to climb to the very top of the park, you can choose to take the park’s inhouse shuttle for about 300¥ as well. In my humble opinion, the view is well worth it. The pink toji gates made for unique pictures too! Definitely make some time for this park if you are here in the shibazakura season! It is for sure one of the best of its kind (:See more..

It is only 15 min bus trip from Engaru bus terminal to the tulip park and is easy accessible. We visited the Park at the end of May 2017 which was approaching the end of 2017 tulip fair. Different colours of tulips were planted to make the landscape colourful and attractive. If the tulips were planted more intensely, the pictures might look better. The Park not only grows tulips but with other flowers to make the flower pattern irresistible. Admission fees are cheap and reasonable at YEN 500 per person. You can spend half a day to take pictures with colourful background.See more..
4.0Midorigaoka Park(83 reviews) - Peaceful Site for Morning Walk Parks
Midorigaoka Park is a perfect spot to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. People enjoy the place for taking a walk and some for jogging through the lush green. 4.5Miharashi Park (Kosetsuen)(66 reviews) - Best place to visit if u are in Hakodate during autumn Parks • Gardens • Playgrounds
Visited on 03 Nov 2018, Saturday. Weather is awesomely good. Clear blue sky. Transport: Took a special autumn leave viewing bus to kosetsuen from Hakodate bus terminal. This bus only operates from end oct to 11 Nov, departs at 10 am, return trip is at 12nn. One way fare is 300 yen per pax . U can use the 1 day bus/tram ticket for this. Well worth as it only takes 26 mins to reach the park instead of the usual 1 hour by bus no. 14. It’s ok not to take the 12 nn special bus back to town. U can take your time to enjoy viewing the leaves and take the normal schedule bus 14 back. View: the colours of the leaves are awesome! I can say it’s the best place to be in autumn. The park is quite big and there is a children playground within the park . Great for hiking too. See my photos. Every turn is a postcard kind of view. Weather is cooling to walk in. Tips: bring some snacks to picnic at the park. And water too. U will love it ! See more..
4.5Matsumae Park(63 reviews) - Atmospheric and gorgeous architecture Parks • Scenic Walking Areas • Playgrounds
Matsumae Park contains the castle and clan temples of the Matsumae samurai clan that once administered this northernmost part of the Japanese civilisation, until complete subjugation of Hokkaido in the 19th century. Undoubtably, the best part of the Park are the temples, which, although not very old when compared to the more famous temples of Kyoto and Nara, have some of the most detailed and gorgeous carvings I've seen in my travels throughout Japan. The clan cemetery is situated among towering pine trees, giving a very atmospheric feel, and well worth a wander between the moss-covered and lichen-wrapped tombstones (some of which look modern, which may mean that the descendants are still using the site today). And of course, visiting during cherry blossom season is an added bonus. Well worth a detour if travelling through Hokkaido.See more..

4.0Takinoue Park(43 reviews) - Stunning in Pink Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Parks
I powered through my allergies just because the place is simply stunning. Pink as far as the eye can see. Visit in mid May to enjoy the place without the crowds. I suggest you take off from Asahikawa. The lovely people in the Asahikawa Station Tourist Information Center will help you figure out how to go there. Your time is kinda limited when you use the Dohoku bus though, which was the one I took. It takes off from Asahikawa at around 9 am. But if you’re not out to stay there for more than an hour, this is the best option.See more..
Visited here last week when getting back to Asahikawa as it was on the way. My decision was right. When we visit here was the right time Shibasakura and Tulip was in full bloom. Luckily not many people only a few party. The area of Shibasakura is not very wide in comparing to Higashimokoto and Takinoue. I visited both park, but in my opinion Taiyono-oka-Engaru-park is best spot for Shibasakura. Maybe cos. not packed withe people..... You can also see tulip here. This park is also very famous for cosmos in September. Hear that many people visit when cosmos bloom. I will be visiting in September as well if I have chance.See more..
