5.0Shiretoko Tourist(103 reviews) - This is my memorable trip. I saw the deers and woodpecker because of the tour guide. Sunday: 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM Eco Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
I was very impressed by my first visit to Shiretoko Five Lakes. The guide was an expert who could describe the natural habitat and its history so clearly. We were so happy and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The guide had more than 25 years of experience, so we got lots of information about the wildlife, natural background, plant species, etc. We saw a woodpecker feeding its baby, and deer, because of the expert guide and a little luck. The feeling was like being so close to the real nature (trees, pond, animals, atmosphere). This trip fully charged our energy before going back to study. Thank you, Shiretoko tour guide.See more..
Very nice experience. We plan to join a day hiking tour with snow shoes, animals watch and floating ice walk. However, during early February, the weather is now cold enough to have float ice, therefore, the day tour change to 2 sessions of hiking with ice shoes. The scenic is so beautiful but according to the tour guide winter has less chance to see wild animals compare to summer. We saw some deers and eagle during the day. One down side for the tour is that they explained things with Japanese, so you may enjoy only accompany with friends who can translate the information if you are non- Japanese speaker.See more..
We choose a shorter trip of 1.5 hours. It's of good view and relaxing. We can see water falls and sea seals. Tips to all: when you go on board, take the seats on the left side of the ship.See more..
5.0R(2 reviews) - R - Mr Ujihara is a great guide Nature & Wildlife Tours • Kayaking & Canoeing
We hired R/Ujihara through Hokkaido Experience to take us on a private half-day trip from Kushiro to see the cranes roosting on the river and at the feeding at Tsurui Ito Sanctuary. We exchanged emails to arrange times and pick up/drop off. He arrived on time with a spotting scope and proceeded to give us a great half day of driving, observing cranes, fox, ducks, etc. at the river and cranes at the Sanctuary. His English was good and personality charming. In summer he leads half and full day canoe trips. He moved to the area 20 years ago to work in the outdoor industry, so is very experienced. I heartily recommend him as a tour guide. You can contact him directly via email at R[アール]氏原英和 See more..
If you are considering this tour, no need to look any further. Book it!! Everyone involved was so incredibly kind and welcoming! The women were so fun and made the entire experience from the beginning to end special. When we left, both host women came outside in the cold to wave us goodbye. They literally stayed in sight waving until we couldn’t see them anymore. I dropped my wallet maybe 15 min into the drive back home and they drove to meet us and drop it off with big smiles and a hug. Overall, we had an amazing experience with professional and knowledgeable guides. We will be returning!See more..
