I am surprised that there is no English review for this area!! This is obviously a place where the locals will go to relax and not so "hot" for tourist yet! On our recent trip, we had sometime and decided to go to this highland in the evening. It proved to be an excellent decision! It is about 45 min drive from Tokachigawa city. The drive there in itself (the last 15 min especially) is well worth the journey already! The view of the Tokachi Plain is spectacular and if you go to where the rest house is located (not the farm), you can capture beautiful scenery with the sun on your back. Spend some time and take a stroll down the slopes (sit/lie on the grass!) and the tranquility is what you will not get from anywhere! See more..

During winter, you can see pregnant horses exercising around an oval racetrack. I believe this only takes place on weekdays, and from 9:30am to 10:00am. When we went, there were many local photographers who had camped out at strategic locations to take pictures of the spectacle. Petting animal is 1pm. Last squeezing milk is 3pm. You can also make icecream, butter, or a wool toy with fee. There are cows, horses, lamb, sheep, goat, alpaca, rabbit. Small park but if you have half a day before/after going to the airport, this is a good place to spend, 30 minutes away. We also stayed at Naganuma Onsen and visits Yuni garden the next morning. It was our first horse riding in 2014. About 90 minutes (9450 yen per person), we could enjoy. They were kind enough to lend us boots, gloves and snowsuit. (They are very friendly and knowledgeable and have 2 dogs.) We went up the hill,crossed the stream and could enjoy the good view of the ISHIKARI Bay from the top of the mountain. On the mountain, snow that fell 2nd Jan. made a perfect white world and lay more than 1 meter! Our stirrups touched snow and dug them! We were so excited and laughed. It was wonderful. On the snow, we have found the footprints of Scriurus vulgaris orientis, deer etc. Don't miss it! 美味しいお肉が売っているだけでなく、アスファルトの駐車場の左右に動物と簡単なアスレチックと塔が立っていて、子どもから大人まで楽しめます。動物の餌のニンジンは100円で売っています。
動物は可愛くて心が癒されます。塔の上までは是非登ることをおすすめします。ザ北海道の景色が見渡せます。塔の一階は小学生以下のみ使用可能なネットの張ったトランポリンがあります。大人の私は遊べませんでした。是非、小さなお子さんのいる方は行ってみて下さい。また、アスレチックは、自分で紐を引っ張って川を渡り、建物に入るようにできていて、大人でも楽しいです。

Although it is a large farm with 9.75 square kilometers however it is not worth to spend an hour to drive to. Partly because prevention considerations, visitors can not go around in the farm. The other because the farm is located near the hills, and no way to directly see the whole farm. The only point visitor can go is the "Obihiro Livestock Processing Training Center" (帯広市畜産加工研修センター), but only sell some simple meat processing and ice cream. See more..

丸瀬布の秘境温泉マウレ山荘の横から山に上がる細い道があり、ここから上ります。舗装されているので乗用車でも大丈夫！　九十九折をひたすら上ること約10分、頂上にたどり着いたかと思ったら、いきなり大平原が目の前に広がります。本当にびっくりするような大平原で、山の上にこんな場所があったと驚かされました。平原の真ん中くらいまで行くと、高地なので360度回りを見渡すことができ、広い空間に包まれれます。まるでハイジの世界です。でもここの醍醐味はやはり夜！何一つ光源が無い高地なので、星の輝きは半端ではありません。まさに星に手が届くくらいの満天の天の川は絶景です！寝そべって天空を見ていると吸い込まれそうになります。マウレ山荘に泊まると、サービスで星空バスツアーがあるので、利用するのが良いでしょう！最高です！ See more..

We’d resigned ourselves to waiting ’til we reached our destination to eat as we drove through the middle of nowhere well past lunchtime on a midsummer day in the Tokachi area so the roadside restaurant banners up ahead were a welcome sight. The farm that operates the eatery is also unusual in that its buildings are neat and tidy, with brightly painted red roofs, a welcome change from the rusting sheet metal decor of all the other farms we’d passed along the way. The newish log cabin with its huge picture windows was quite roomy inside and as we mulled over the meal choices the smiling staff assured us that everything was delicious. You can’t go far wrong with butadon, simmered pork on rice, and it turned out to be a good choice, albeit no frills. The grumpy-looking gentleman at the back corner table also appeared satisfied with his plate of curry. Even more so with the “soft cream” he had for dessert. The service was cheerful and unobtrusive. A wide screen tv that seemed to take up much of the room was showing the racing news, but the wobbly-legged foal and its shaggy mother in the paddock right outside the window were much more entertaining. That the toilet facilities consisted of a row of porta-potties next to the building was a touch that was just a bit too rustic, however, leaving us wishing we’d made a pit stop beforehand. A glance at the ranch’s website reveals that the restaurant opened in April 2018, along with the next door “fureai bokujo” (petting zoo). We had other plans that day, but perhaps we’ll take time out for the ranch tour next time through. Would we have made a special trip to eat here? Probably not, but for a spur of the moment choice it turned out to be not half bad. See more..

夏に放牧時間が早めに切り上げるタイミングでの見学だった時には、体を洗ってもらっている馬達を近くで見学できました。馬によっては洗い場に繋がなくても厩舎の外で引き綱一本だけで手入れが終わる馬もいて、信頼関係なのか興味深かった。 See more..

国道からちょっと入ったところにあり、国道沿いには小さな看板がありました。観光牧場ではありませんが毛刈りやシープドッグ体験ができます。シープドッグ体験とはオーナーの笛に合わせて牧羊犬が広い牧場の中をヒツジを追い立てるモノです。オーナーが解説しながらやってくれるヒツジ追いはヒツジや犬の性格があって、ちょっとまごついたりサボったりして楽しめます。今（2017.01）確認したら10名以上で一人500円でしたが可能であればぜひ。もしかしたら10人未満でも5000円払ったらやってくれるカモ、です。タイミングがよければかわいく忠実な牧羊犬の赤ちゃんも見られるそうです。

北海道で乗馬をしたくて、見つけたのがむつ牧場。
外乗Bコース【120分コース】森や草原をトレッキング（中級〜上級）に参加しました。
久しぶりの乗馬ということで、背が低く乗りやすい道産子の“ダイちゃん”と“カマちゃん”に乗せてもらいました。
騎乗前に、まずはブラッシングをして鐙、鞍、はみ等を嵌めるところから飼育員の方と一緒に行います。そして、馬場内を数周歩く練習をしたらいざ外乗へ。
基本は牧場の敷地内ですが、途中で国有林（防霧林）の中を歩いたり、廃線となった標津線の線路跡を歩き鉄道遺跡の鉄橋を見に行ったりしました。
今回は私の“走りたい”の希望を取り入れてもらい、草刈りの終わった牧草地で早駆けや駈歩（かけあし）も楽しみました。
鞍の取り付けから、乗馬が終わってからのご褒美のバナナをあげるまで、道産子たちとの密な時間を過ごせ、幸せなひとときでした。
乗馬トレッキングといっても日本の場合は歩くだけ･･･の場合が多いですが、海外で馬に乗るときのような楽しみ方ができるむつ牧場。
初心者の方にも経験者の方にも☆5個でおすすめです。

夏に利用する際のアドバイスですが、気温の高い時間帯は虻（あぶ）が出るので、できるだけ朝一番の涼しい時間帯での予約がよいかもしれません。
また、女性の方は事前にトイレを済ませてから向かう方がおすすめ。牧場のお手洗いは仮設式のトイレとなります。

ちなみに、むつ牧場は動物研究家のムツゴロウさんが主となる牧場で、トレッキングルートの途中にはムツゴロウさんのご自宅もありました。 See more..

北見市郊外にある牛の育成牧場に遊歩道が設けられています。
第２広場から歩いて展望台を目指そうと思っていたのですが
第１広場から先は大雨で道が通行止めになっていました。
仕方なく第３広場からアプローチ、
大東林道の標識を見逃し道を間違えました。
曲がるところに第３広場という標識はありません。
展望台からは雌阿寒岳　雄阿寒岳、藻琴山、知床連山が見えました。
残念ながら山頂が見えたのは雄阿寒岳と藻琴山くらいでしたが
