    The 100 Square-Meter Trust Forest is a program whereby the area within the Shiretoko National Park that was formerly owned by private citizens is now being replanted in 100 square meter blocks to "reclaim" the land to its forested state. The Trust was organized in 1997. However, in 1977, the town of Shari began the "100 Square Meter Forest Planting Movement" which morphed into the Trust Forest. Some of the displays map the progress that has been made turning cultivated land back into forest. Shari Town Hall completed the acquisition of the final 11.92 hectares of a 471 hectare set of private lands that is the target for the reforestation movement. Visited 9/22/2017. See more..

    10月下旬に訪れると木々が紅葉してきれいです。
