If you are in Otaru, I think this is worth a visit. It is a bit further walk away from the tourist shops and it was very quiet when we arrived around 3pm until a tour bus of Japanese came. The tour is not available in English but you can download an app to listen to the narration. We just chose to read the labels walking through and took a short walk because highlight was to taste the sake. Service is friendly and we went straight to test their top two best seller. We had sake tasting in this Brewery. Even though it's just small amount, it's enough to get us tipsy. The staff spoke in limited English, but she explained very well. We all understood what she said, she even handed brochure, leaflets about Kunimare to us. It was a nicely decorated shop. Plenty of souvenirs for sale, and scenes of the famous movie 'Station'. This is my 'go to' brewery. The selection is massive and if there aren't other customers, they'll let you taste test a wide selection. It's not 'tourist oriented' at all like the other more well known brewery in town, so they aren't trying to move you on. If you can't find a sake that you like here, sake is not for you. Be aware that the staff do not speak English, but if that's a problem for you, stick to Tokyo. See more..

This is Hokkaido sake contest grand winner of 2014. Definitely worth a visit to the historic ground of the master brewer, especially if you are keen in the sake making process. The tour shows the production ground but the best session is still the free sampling at the sales area. In the autumn season which i went, the area is beautiful for photo shoot too, with red leaves clinging to building facade...lovely. If you are self-drive vacation....do be careful not to drink :) See more..

北海道の蔵元と云えば、12カ所の中で男山や国希等々が有名ですが、ここ金滴酒造さんも100年を超える歴史ある酒蔵です。今回初めて伺う事が出来ました。

残念ながら車旅の為に試飲は出来ず、また見学は予約の関係で出来ませんでしたが、事務所内併設の売店でほぼフルラインナップされた金滴ブランドを見学(^_-)-☆
