Easy to get to with a car, you will be surprised by the quality of this free outdoor park. I was astounded at the size and presentation of the sculptures given the public can freely walk the grounds, and found it a really enjoyable stop on a trip from Northern Hokkaido to Sapporo. There is even a very pretty (though not very cheap) cafe in the grounds, and a shop where you can buy small replicas of some of the sculptures. Stunning on a sunny day.See more..

。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。 I love to visit Museum of Masami Mano. His technique is quite unique that he use watercolour paint with very precise outline which done by masking sheet. I was amazed very detailed watercolour drawing which was not just precis enough yet very soft and warm impression. 4.5Otaru Art Base(45 reviews) - Stained glass and Art Nouveau art, lamps and castings Spent 1-2 hours Art Museums

Took lavender go bus to miyama pass. just walk towards the ferry wheel about 5min. The mountain view is really beautiful. Colourful Flowers patch can be seen too. The Trick Art museum is v small. The drawing is not as nice as the one in Seoul. Not worth to purposely give a visit specially if you taking public bus. unless you pass by then no harm going. The ticket cost 1300yen for museum I think. there is a package for ferry wheel & museum. The lavender go bus timing is very bad. If you miss 1 bus you have to wait 1 hour or more and it can be very late too.See more..
I bought the three museum ticket but only saw the two museums with the stained glass - the first was English and the second had Tiffany glass. Just beautiful ... words can’t explain how lovely it was to gaze upon it. See more..
A bronze statue titled Victory (1923) by a French artist Emile-Antoine Bourdelle in front of the building welcomes you at this Hokkaido Obihiro Museum of Art. It’s one of the six Hokkaido prefectural art museums. The area is surrounded by lots of trees in the museum area of Obihiro. Its main emphases are local artists from the Obihiro region and a special exhibit. It appears they have no permanent gallery. When we visited the art museum, they had a small section for paintings, prints and sculptures by local artists, and a larger section for an Ukiyo-e exhibit. The latter was quite extensive and very well organized, but the former was poorly organized with no theme of some 30 or so works, though the works were of very high quality by professional artists who had some affiliation to the region of Obihiro.See more..
3.5Asahikawa Museum of Art(28 reviews) - Hokkaido Prefectural Asahikawa Art Museum Art Museums
This is a small prefectural art museum in Asahikawa’s Tokiwa Park. Parking was tight on the day we visited, but that was because of the opening of a special exhibit in early July 2017. Their permanent display appears to be quite limited to mostly local artists’ works in Hall #2. Therefore, its admission is less than JPY300. But they constantly organize something special and when we visited, it was having a special exhibit of Japanese-style paintings by the three Ueharas (Shoen, Shoko and Atsushi) in Hall #1.See more..
4.0Keiyu Nishimura Museum of Art(12 reviews) - Interesting thing to do if it's raining out. Spent 1-2 hours Art Museums
This museum is an interesting building and inside it are numerous works by Nishimura, a very privileged and wealthy man who was sent to Paris as a young artist. He found success there and I believe his family put together this building in his honor. The fact that he was able to go back and forth between Hokkaido and Europe back in his day is unique and his work reflects that. An interesting retreat for a rainy day, probably only need 45min or so to go through. They had an interesting photography exhibition going on when we went which showed how difficult farming was in Hokkaido in the early 1900's and that was truly interesting. The photos showed very humble lifestyles of the Hokkaido people and how difficult it was to obtain good potatoes and corn back in the day. Even though the photography exhibition was separate from the works by Nishimura, we really appreciated the exhibit.See more..
See more..
