4.0Jigokudani(1.414 reviews) - Short visit Geologic Formations
Took the train to noboribetsu station and decided to take a cab to the hell valley which took about 15mins. The queue for the bus was long and many visitors had big luggage with them. Bus intervals is every hour, so if you can’t get on because it’s full, you will have to wait another hour. The valley itself is beautiful. There’re a few trails to walk around. Wear good shoes as the paths were super slippery. Not a big place so we were done pretty quickly and took a walk around the small onsen town area. Bought some souvenirs, walked to the bus station and took the bus back to the train station.See more..
4.5Cape Kamui(552 reviews) - A beautiful place on a beautiful day Spent 2-3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Geologic Formations • Scenic Walking Areas
I've been here a few times and it is always worth the trip. Easy hike for some amazing views. If you can read Japanese or bring your iPhone to translate you can learn some interesting history about this area as well. The Cape is subject to high winds so if you having trouble standing up in the parking lot then skip the hike to the lighthouse or end of the cape. Very beautiful and they have closing hours that would keep you from watching a sunset in the summer.See more..
3.5Godzilla Rock(254 reviews) - You'll be passing by this area, if you going up to the 5 lakes or take a cruise. Geologic Formations
Its really quite 'cool', that from certain angles, it does have the profile of the famous movie-star monster. If you're a godzilla fan, swing by, it won't take more than a few minutes if you're on the way to the 5-lakes, or hiking thru bear-territory.See more..
4.0Cape Notoro(223 reviews) - A must-visit spot Points of Interest & Landmarks • Lookouts • Geologic Formations
A fine weather with a cool breeze, a large field dotted with tiny yellow flowers with an unobstructed view of the Sea of Okhotsk and a romantic lighthouse - definitely a place to calm our mind. We had this place practically to ourselves. Excellent spot to shoot wonderful photos. There are washroom facilities next to the parking lot.See more..
4.5Shakotan Peninsula(155 reviews) - Drive around and stop whenever you like! Geologic Formations
We loved driving along the Shakotan Peninsula. We rented a 1000cc car from Toyota that cost us around SGD 70 per day. The speed limit of 40-50 km. Therefore it was a leisure drive for us. The blue sea and mountain view really recharged both of us. The sea was so clear that you could see the sea bed! Plus there wasn't any salty smelly sea smell. We stopped over at many scenic spots for picnics and saw many locals fishing! See more..
I didn't really know this area existed until I drove up a steep little road across the street from the Cape Soya (Soya-misaki) viewing area. Totally unexpected, and just amazing! It had been raining all day and was clearing as I starting driving along up there. Just when you get to the top there's a bit of a parking area for nice views of the cape and out to the ocean. As you continue inland, you get to all the fields with lazily chomping cows, and tons of wind turbines (which makes sense because it was incredibly windy that day-a typhoon had been going through). I could see deer way off in the distance too in many areas. You definitely need a rental car to visit this area, but there are plenty of areas to safely pull off the road and take in the scenery.See more..

Here is little far from central of city.but if u drive car, no problem. Way is easy. U leave parking, and then walk, so, u can see interesting location. But carefull, many birds down it. kkk(*´艸`*) please see my photo. See more..
4.0Nabetsuru Rock(33 reviews) - The pot handle rock Geologic Formations
This beloved rock is as famous as the town mascot, unimaru the sea urchin, and with it's unique shape and convenient accessibility it's easy to see why. The arch can be observed on approach to Okushiri by ferry, or by a quick jaunt from the ferry terminal along the main road. The signboard offers an English translation that is not entirely accurate, but humorous and endearing none the less. Definitely worth a visit, and of course a photo! Bonus points if you can make it there at sunrise.See more..
4.0Kushiro River(31 reviews) - A great place to relax Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Geologic Formations
The water is clear & you can see the fish swim. There are large sidewalks by the river you can stroll. There are parks with flowers & benches that you can sit on & enjoy the river. Also, you see very little trash on the river bank. This is a good place to enjoy a sunny day!See more..
4.0Cape Kimuaneppu(28 reviews) - Great spot for a cycling camper Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Geologic Formations
Despite a few buzzing mosquitoes, this is a great place to set up a tent, get a 100yen shower, and relax for the night. I was welcomed when I arrived and asked to sign the guest book. The shower and toilets are clean and the grass and trails well maintained. I can’t believe this is a free campsite.See more..
It was few minutes walk from the car park to reach the bell by the cape. It was interesting to walk on undisturbed, pure snow as we walked past the forest. We were so excited to see some wild Sika deer! There was nice view from the bell and we took some lovely pictures there with the deer minding their own business, munching on grass. It was a truly unforgettable and amazing experience.See more..
4.5Ebisuiwa Daikokuiwa(16 reviews) - A beautiful,serene place Geologic Formations
We visited this strikingly lovely cove in the depths of winter. Snow tumbled from the cliffs, an eagle soared overhead, and seals milled in a group about a hundred metres offshore. I don’t mind a bit of serenity and this small, calm bay provided it in great measure.See more..
This area is famous as strange fromed rocks. This Oyakoguma rock looks really bears!! On the way to central Setana town, just passing over the city limit from Yakumo town. See more..
3.5Sambonsugi Iwa(13 reviews) - The most impressionable sunset view Spent < 1 hour Geologic Formations
Sambonsugi is the Setana town's view spot of three big rocks in the sea. After visitting it at the Sambonsugi beach, I really recommend you to go up to the Risshozan hill. You will enjoy the most beautiful sunset of Hokkaido, I think!! You can also taste a special sweet. The tasting limit is only one hour after serving, it means you should eat it only at Setana town!!
4.5Joro-Koiwa(3 reviews) - Nature Hike with Amazing Views Geologic Formations
I have never been here on a bad day the weather must like me. A beautiful hike with many amazing views along the way. Bring water and something to eat because it is a beautiful place and you will want to spend some time here. I also suggest bear bells to let them know you are on the trail. I have not seen a bear here but some have. Lots of steps / stairs with some in need of repair so watch your step. Each time I have gone the trail ends at Joro-Koiwa because there is a bridge under repair so the trail is closed at this pointSee more..
