4.5Ueno Farm(206 reviews) - Very pretty garden Monday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Farms
This is a small garden that's kind of hidden, but can be found readily using your GPS and their phone number if you have a rental car. There is a small fee for entry, but we felt it was worth it, especially after our disappointment with the botanical gardens in Sapporo. The flowers here are enormous and plentiful. There is also a short walk up a hill to get a view of Daisetsuzan National Park and the surrounding agricultural fields. There is also a little cafe and gift shop inside for those of you with a green thumb. Well worth a short visit if you're in the area.See more..
4.5Himawari no Sato(118 reviews) - Sunflowers envelope you Farms
Sunflowers n more sunflowers! Sunflowers as far as your eyes can see! But for photo taking, you can get bored cos there're only sunflowers. We took a train from Asahikawa to Fukagawa. Then took a bus from the bus stop in front of Fukagawa hospital and dropped off at the second last bus stop-Hokuryu High School. From there the field is 5-min away. They have bicycles for rental or you can take a tractor to go round. I personally find walking is a better choice. You can stop anytime n any place u wish to take pictures. One will spend about 2hrs there.See more..
4.0Ecorin Village(116 reviews) - Fantasy gardens in the Hokkaido countryside. Farms
A good day out for gardeners, families with kids, walkers and anyone just looking for a bit of peace and quiet. 10 years ago farmland was transformed into 30 themed gardens by British designer Bunny Guinness. The area is dotted with fantastical buildings (as if the Hobits have just popped out) and sculptures, there are llamas and alpacas, a sheepfarm, restaurants and a garden center including a vast tomato tree - ONE tree - that grows in water and produces thousands of fruit.See more..
This is a little bit out of the way and there is no big parking for coaches. Less popular but yet this was one of the best sites we visited. Actually if you want to avoid crowd, this should be the first in your list. Free entrance. July was not the best season but September may be. Very nice hilly ground and very neatly presented flower fields. Large enough for a reasonable walk. Don't miss this out. Very highly recommended.See more..
4.5Saika no sato(86 reviews) - Best place for Lavender Fields Monday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Farms
Everyone goes to Tomita. But Saika no sato is a nice little secret. A bit further from Tomita but NO Crowds here. Here unlike at Tomita, you not only get the lavenders but you don't jostle with others for the clear unobstructed view and photo. You can also immerse yourself close to the flowers for the great iconic shot. Also this farm is located on a hill side. Which means while you walk abit uphill, you get better prospective of the lavender rows. Tomita on the other hand is on a flat land so it pales in comparison to the setting in Saika no sato. It is quiet, the setting is nice. I also felt strongly that flowers should be best appreciated in a tranquil intimate setting as opposed to a Disneyland-like park. The slight drawback is you won't find the full plethora of shops and eateries as in some of the other farms like Tomita. There is a nice café and ice cream palour though. In short, don't miss this place.See more..
4.5Biei Farm(63 reviews) - Walk around the farm on a rainy day. Farms
The weather was wet and cold. It was raining heavy. It would be a nice place to cycle around the farm roads. The roads were hilly but not steep. The farm lands were beautifully located with tall trees against the sky. I love the view from a hill stop. It will be worth visiting it on a dry day. Cycling around the farm land will be good.See more..
4.0Yamamoto Fruits Farm(60 reviews) - Fun daytrip from Sapporo Monday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Farms
Yamamoto Fruit Orchard is located near JR Yoichi station. Around 40 minutes from JR Otaru station and 80-90 minutes from JR Sapporo station. From JR Yoichi station, taxi to Yamamoto is around 1400Yen. All you can eat cherries and blueberries in the orchard for 990Yen. As of July 23, there were still plenty of cherries to pick off the tree. At other times throughout the year, they have apples, grapes, plums, peaches. Very well run and friendly family style orchard. Not many English speaking staff there but was able to manage to understand enough to get the general idea of the procedures there. Once you're in the orchard, you're free to walk around to enjoy. Highly recommended.See more..
4.0Yuni- Garden(51 reviews) - Worth a visit if u r in town. Farms
Take the train which costs ¥100, you can hop on and off. Can spend an easy 2 hours here. Vege buffet is super yummy. Got a lot of flower tea to try. Definitely go if you are around the area, 30 min from chitose Airport, and want to spend half a day somewhere close by. My kids and I also went to heidi farm and stayed at the near by Naganuma Onsen Hotel. There are workshops as well.See more..
I like this sunflower land in Ozora very much, much more than the farm land in Furano/Biei we visited subsequently. It's not huge in terms of size but picturesque enough for us to snap lots of photos, and best of the part is --- minus the crazy crowd surrounded in Furano/Biei farms. The little park is like less than half an hour drive from Abashiri area. A must-visit if you are nearby during summer season. See more..
Start from Otaru JR station,it just a few minutes to reach Niki station, here you can call them for the pick up service which is Free of Charge!! The van will drop you at the Farm Shop where you can buy the ticket 1,100 yen for the entrance fee and souvenir cherry 100g.See more..
The harvest season begins when the cherries ripens from mid June to late Aug. Please eat are sweet cherries. We are located in Ashibetsu, Hokkaido, JAPAN.See more..
My husband and I visited the Yokoyama fruit farm while travelling from Abashiri to Lake Mashu. Besides cherry trees, there were water-melon, blueberry and other fruits in this farm. The owner of the farm were friendly. They charge each person 500 yen and eat as much as you like. If you like to take away the cherry , they charge 100 yen for a big basket. This is a place worth to visit compared to another cherry farm near Furano. For those who are driving, the GPS will prompt for the family name. Try to find somebody who can write in Japanese to help you enter the family name.See more..
4.0Apple House(5 reviews) - Lovely house in a beautiful area Farms Lovely house in a beautiful area, we thoroughly enjoyed staying here and also walking around the neighbourhood. Apple house is away from the city, yet close enough to everything you need including food, transport, etc. The owners were lovely especially Hiroko who went above and beyond our expectations. We would love to stay here again.See more..
