To get there was very easy as you can catch the bus at Otaru station or a taxi very easily. But the way back you will have to plan well for the bus back as per timetable... waiting at the bus stop was freezing Shows were all nice and not too much forcing the animals ... they were lovely and naturally presented the show See more..
4.0Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe(269 reviews) - Well cared-for park and worth a visit with children. Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Amusement & Theme Parks • Aquariums
We visited as a family group of eight, and all found things of interest/enjoyment to watch. The park and animals are well cared for and there is lots of space between exhibits to enjoy a walk around. We ate at a restaurant within the park, and it was tasty/enjoyable. Parking was easy and the park was lovely and quiet - we went on a Monday during term time. Definitely worth a visit of a couple of hours if you are in the area.See more..
This place is just 10-15min from Chitose new airport. And a wonderful way to commence a trip if you are going Sapporo or western part of Hokkaido. Salmon is an important part of the cities around Hokkaido and indeed the country. One of the most amazing feature is that part of the observatory is build underwater along the Chitose river and you can see the salmon run in the natural setting right in front pf you. The 'scene' changes according to the season, as it is natural. For visitors who have never carried a real salmon, there are mock depicting the actual size and weight. There is touch experience pond where you can immerse your cupped palm to attract the salmon fries to enter your palm... Overall, a nice and informative place to visit. See more..

Small aquarium but plenty to see. Several different types of salmon. There are doctor fish where you can put your hands in - very fun. See more..
The sea seals were lovely and kept on chasing their handlers for food. We have missed the scheduled feeding time and the staff was so kind to do the feeding again so that we didn't need to wait for another 30-45 minutes during the strong wind.See more..
I loved this little aquarium! There is a large pool with maybe 10 seals, and for just 100 yen, you can buy a little bucket of four fish to feed them. The seals were amazing. When they see the fish, some of them will slap the water with their flippers to attract your attention. The rest of the aquarium was interesting too. Lots of northern fish. There was also a pool with sea urchins, and you could touch them. The general entrance fee is 500 yen. It's also right beside Cape Noshappu, so you can kill two siteseeing birds with one stone.See more..
