Hilton Head Island Bike Trails, South Carolina, United States

5.0 (3.185 reviews) Spent Ranking #3 in South Carolina Hiking Trails

Biking is at the top of my list in Hilton Head.

We come to HHI for biking and to see relatives that live on the island. There is nothing I love more than riding on the beach on a sunny day with the wind at your back at low tide. The wind is important because we are getting up there in age and with a stiff wind behind you it is effortless.

    Love the bike trails
Hilton Head has outdone it with their creation and upkeep of the bike trails all over the island. We visit every year the week after Labor Day and spend quite a few hours during our week biking, both on the paths and the beach, but mostly the paths. They are a great way to explore various areas and are very well maintained.

    Well planned and landscaped
The bike trails are one of the best things about staying on Hilton Head Island. We didn't actually rent bikes because we had our dog with us who loved the walks as much as we did. They are well landscaped, and take you all over the island. We stayed there for 2 1/2 weeks and walked both on the beach and on the paths, and managed to explore different paths almost every day. At night it was a little tricky, because the paths can be very dark. It should be required that bicyclists have lights if they ride after sunset. Another downside is that Sea Pines charges money when you enter their side of the island.
