Highly recommended for a visiit

this is absolutely a must for visitors to the area. The place has been given some renovation works and now offers a very comfortable parking lot, cafe and ice-cream shop and a gift shop. The trails can be muddy or even snowy at times (I visited in the middle of April and there was a lot of snow on the trails, which were in turn very slippery).

    Frozen white in winter
    We visited the pond in second week of January. It was almost completely frozen and snow-covered. We could still see the blue colour of the water in the river beside the pond. If you're in the area in the middle of winter, I would recommend to visit the nearby Shirahige Waterfall instead, which has similar blue colour and much prettier.
