    Though I don't know if I would call the Mystic River Bascule Bridge an attraction, it is right smack in the middle of downtown Mystic (a great place to walk around). We were actually able to see it open up a few times over a couple of days, and you couldn't help but stop and watch the process (or the cool boats go by). So, though I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to go see it, if you are in downtown Mystic, it's worth it to stop and watch the bridge in action. See more..

    Was in the area and took a quick drive to see this little bridge. The views out the windows were amazing. Then my dogs and I took the short walk to see the roaring waters - worth the time for sure! Would be amazing in the fall! See more..

    Been living in New Haven County for majority of my life (45+) and grew up on Interstate 95. From holidays to vacations and many shopping events, crossing the the river has always been a pain. It was so bad that I originally was going to move to the Branford area, but dealing with the bridge was not worth it. Finally the state upgraded the bridge and it's great. The traffic is mlm uch less and it is an engineering marvel, especially at night. See more..
