The beach is private...but between Oct and April you can go without a sticker...and with your pet! It's obvious to use the beach in summer - in particular for Fri/Sat evening BBQs - very social. But get there for a wonder long walk, breakfast in the autumn sun, and to let your dog run free with all the other lovely dogs on the beach. See more..
  3. 4.5 Walnut Beach (163 reviews)
    - Beautiful Sunset
    Beaches
    Walnut Beach image
I only came here to shoot the sunset during the off season. There was plenty of parking for residents and non residents alike. The drive in is easy and dreamers can admire all the beautiful homes on the way in. There’s a pier that makes for nice photos as well. Initially, there’s a fishy smell, but maybe it was just that particular day. It “goes away” or you get used to it if you’re there long enough. See more..
  4. 4.0 Harvey's Beach (109 reviews)

This is such a great beach. Especially with small children. But 30.00 for parking. We have been comming here for years. We went one Sat In June after 2:00pm. The attendent said 20.00. We started to laugh and he said he wasnt kidding. He had said if we showed up earlier we would have had to pay 30.00. We just kept laughing at how outrageous the fee was. My husband asked how many people turned around. He said about 30 cars. So they really lost 450.00 for the day. There was hardly anyone there. A perfect beach day. So increased profits are not going to happen. No one will go. What will they have gained? Nolthing See more..

    - Beautiful beach, ample parking
    Beaches
    Jennings Beach image
I visited as part of the annual Fairfield half marathon, which draws nearly 1,500 runners. Please note: if you are visiting this beach, make sure you check the local events calendar first! The parking was managed through a series of volunteers. The crowds filled the ample parking and then some. During non-event days, parking has a fee (check website for details). The beach itself was very clean, with Beautiful views of Long Island and the shoreline. The beach has a single hard structure/building with somewhat clean bathrooms. See more..
  7. 4.0 Calf Pasture Beach (74 reviews)
    - A Gem

A gem. As newly arrived Norwalkers, we are enamored of “our” beach. Easily accessible with a variety of beach experiences available, it’s also a great sit in the car and watch the sunset date night location in chilly or inclement weather. Shady and sunny areas, a paved boardwalk, a community green with regular events (a full moonrise is breathtaking), pier fishing, a low-tide sandbar stretching out into the harbor, boating, swimming, and outstanding fries and food from Ripka’s in season. 8. 4.0 East Haven Town Beach (33 reviews)
    - Nice Family Beach
    Beaches
    East Haven Town Beach image
This offers strong family beach vibes. Parking $35 for us. Another beach that didn't appear over crowded. Probably because of the $35 fee. Make sure to bring some bug spray. Sand is good, with shells, not as rocky as Walnut Beach. Water no different from Walnut Beach. Restaurants accessible is a plus. Also has a splash park but they stop at 7pm See more..

  11. 4.5 Sasco Beach (15 reviews)
    - Favorite beach in town
    Beaches
    Sasco Beach image
Sasco is my favorite beach to go to in Fairfield. It's small, so it never gets overly crowded. And the parking lot is right there, so you don't have to haul chairs and coolers for a mile. The beach is a big hit with my daughter, and we usually visit it multiple times in the summer. The bathroom is always clean. And Uber Eats delivers. Can't go wrong. On the weekends in the summer, it does fill up by 10/11am, and then you're out of luck. See more..
  12. 4.5 Long Beach (14 reviews)

Wife and I go here at least twice a week in summertime . No lifeguards and you must be a stratford resident and it may cost you something if you are not .The views are great , you can see long island from there , there is also a way to get to pleasure beach island which is a nice walk for a family or even a couple, Shel pickers will like the beach , but just to let you know that the sand is full of shells and water shoes are needed See more..
  13. 3.5 Clinton Town Beach (14 reviews)
    - Nice amenity for town residents but otherwise go to a state park
    Beaches
    Clinton Town Beach image
Yep, $50-$75 for parking depending on day of week (this is to discourage use by non-residents). Highly suggest going 5 mins down the road to Hammonasset State Park which is much bigger. We didn’t pay to park but instead went at sunset (parking attendants leave after hours) with a picnic. It’s a small, well maintained beach and at low tide you can walk out a hundred yards without getting your knees wet but definitely not worth the high fees during the day. See more..
  14. 3.0 Southport Beach (13 reviews)
    - Small, local beach, but lots to see.
    Beaches
    Southport Beach image
If you drive through Southport in the Summer, you may see this beach, but unless you're a resident, you can't park here (hint: try the harbor, and walk here). Once Labor Day has passed, feel free to drop in. This is a good location for birders - plenty of transient and resident birds, particularly in the estuary of Sasco Creek. It's a nice place to sunbathe, if you're into that sort of thing. There are toilets, and rather strangely, some kind of device to allow passing cyclists to fix their machines. The town put it in recently, for reasons best known to themselves. It's one of the few places around here with a relatively unobstructed sky, so it's a good place to observe astronomical events to the South. Our local beach. See more..

This is a fantastic place to walk. Half the beach is rocky and reminiscent of the Maine coast, while the other half is sandy. Historic houses add to the appeal, and it’s all very walkable by seaside sidewalks. See more..

This is not a big beach at all. Be aware that you'll need a sticker to get in OR pay the fee at the guard shack. Either way, it's such a nice little spot to hang and relax. See more..
  20. 5.0 Jackson Cove (1 review)
    - Picturesque Views with a Beach
    Beaches
As residents of Oxford Connecticut this is a really nice amenity. Basically a private beach for town residents. Pleny of parking, rest rooms, a picnic area, sandy beach and lifeguards. A great place for a few hours of sun, river swimming, sunbathing or hiking. All Oxford residents should try it. See more..
