    - Great museum

Great spot - the submarine docked outside is quite impressive and the walkthrough is fun. Just be careful going through it, easy to bang knees on metal protrusions. Also, the entrance to the museum parking lot is not very inviting, its easy to end up in the military checkpoint and have to deal with the procedure of letting them check you over before letting you back out. 2. 3.5 Connecticut Air & Space Center (8 reviews)
    - Hard to finf
    Spent 1-2 hours Military Museums
Ok, be patient. It's a bit difficult to find this place. You need to get in thru the visitors center under the 550 Main Street sign. We past by it twice. With some help from guys in the area we finally got it. So, if you are a aircraft history buff, love old helicopters and aircraft, go ! But, remember it's a working facility with volunteers and retired aviation people. It has a small to no budget. So, theses guys do it because they love the industry and their military service. Don't be wowed by pristine old aircraft and a high budget showcase surroundings. These are the real deals here. Old, in service aircraft. In some cases they escaped the scrap yard. The gentleman that showed us around is truly and genuinely polite and full of history. If you go, ask questions and learn something from a great generation of hardworking guys that lived thru what these aircraft were designed to do. If you have a few bucks, donate it. See more..

I found the Made in Bristol Room very interesting as it has an excellent cross section of products that were made in Bristol. Fishing rods made in the Forestville section of town, coaster breaks for bicycles, clocks, springs are there also. See more..

Very Nice small museum. 2nd floor of Memorial building. It has been there since the building was built in 1890. It was a GAR Hall where the Civil War veterans met. Great preservation of history See more..

West Haven Veterans Museum and Learning Center image
The West Have Veterans Museum and Learning Center has so much more to offer than I thought it would. It’s free to get in but I personally highly recommend a donation even if it’s a small one. The museum is run exclusively on volunteers and is a nonprofit organization. You can have a guided tour or walk through at your own pace. There is so much to see, various uniforms, weaponry, equipment, and other military related memorabilia. We stayed for about an hour, going through the museum and having a chat with the friendly and very knowledgeable volunteers. It’s a must for all military enthusiasts or anyone who wants to learn more about military history. They also have a learning center that has over 1,000 books. The West Haven Veterans Museum and learning center is an excellent resource and museum in the southern region of Connecticut. See more..
