After dinner in Glastonbury, we rode the ferry for the first time yesterday evening. We had a lot of fun and we were glad we went. It was well worth the $5 fee for our group of 4 and our Grand Cherokee. The captain and first mate were very friendly and it was a smooth ride across the river. We look forward to riding the ferry again! See more..

This is a fun and enjoyable way to spend a few hours on the water and exploring Sheffield Island and its lighthouse. The ferry ride was relaxing and captain was informative and had a nice sense of humor. The ride is about 40 min long. Once on the island you get a tour of the lighthouse and then you have about an hour and 20 min to have lunch at the picnic areas, explore the island, hike the trail or look for sea shells. Or just enjoy the serenity of the island. See more..
