They are terrific. I rented three kayaks for a long weekend, which they delivered to my local beach house, and then I bought two used kayaks from them at the end of the summer. Whenever I called, Sarah was always super helpful and friendly, and gave me good advice on the best kayaks for my purposes. The delivery and pickup was also easy and they were very accommodating. I have had only WONDERFUL experiences at Longshore Sailing School. The staff is well-trained, friendly and informative. Every kayak I've rented is always in great shape. The location is beautiful and if you love being on the water, you are in for a treat. The boundaries within which LSS requires you to stay are not at all restrictive and the staff makes sure you know what they are. I have taken out rentals at LSS dozens of times, and the experience never feels repetitive. Tides, breezes, time of day, and general weather conditions and their interplay make each experience unique and memorable. (It is only good sense to think responsibly and to make yourself aware of those conditions when you are heading out.) It is clear from what I have observed over time is that the kids in the sailing school are having a great time and there is plenty of staff working with each group. LSS is a popular destination so reserve in advance by phone or email, especially on weekends.See more..

Well-organized, lots of fun, people wearing masks. We had a great day. Be warned that at this time the water is very low so you have to get out and walk the canoe over stones a couple times, but its not a big deal. We didn't want to take the van because there are only teeny windows and too many people we didn't know in the midst of a pandemic, so we took two cars, and Mainstream was very helpful in letting us know where to park so we could manage this. So nice to be able to do an activity that's fun, safe, and still exciting without risking your life during a pandemic. Would do it again.See more..

My wife and I are here from Maryland and were very happy to go out for an hour in the kayaks from quiet waters. Saturday was beautiful sunny and warm. The waters of the Salmon river are clear and calm and just perfect for a nice day trip. Someday I will bring my own kayak from home but for now it’s so easy to rent from these friendly owners to get out on these wonderful waters.See more..

The guys at Huck Finn Adventures are so easy to work with! I called the day before we wanted to kayak to check on pricing and availability. The guy who answered the phone was aware that bad weather was expected later in the day and it would be iffy in the morning, so he told me to call in the morning to confirm. He was more than happy to work with me to get myself and the kids outfitted in the vessels that were the most appropriate for us. We had a marvelous, serene kayak trip down the Farmington River. The kids were ready to call it a day at 3 miles, though I would have like to have gone farther. Really, you can just about float the whole way and only use the paddle for occasional steering. We will definitely rent from them again, but next time I think we'll get a canoe so we can go further along the river.See more..
