The setting isn’t as pretty as J Edwards but it’s a nice artsy scene with local art for sale. The service is good. $16.00 gets you 6 tastings and a souvenir glass. We really liked the Riesling, that was the stand out by far. Stonington Vineyard is a good stop on the CT wine trail. See more..

    - Amazing, Magical, Idyllic afternoon

White Silo Farm & Winery image
My husband and I just arrive in Sherman for 4 months and booked the Pizza Sunday event to White Silo after reading all the glowing reviews on trip advisor. The bar was set high but the entire experience exceeded all our expectations! It helped that it was a gloriously sunny spring day but couple that with an incredible setting, fabulous pizza, great rhubarb wine and Dan Sawyer on the guitar and you have an 11! He brought me to tears of JOY! We could not have asked for a better way to spend the afternoon. We will definitely return over and over! See more..
  9. 4.5 Connecticut Valley Winery (99 reviews)
    - Incredible one-of-a-kind wine
    Thursday: Wineries & Vineyards
    Connecticut Valley Winery image
This is by far the best vineyard we've ever been to. They have the most flavorful wines ever tasted. I don't have a very good sniffer, but each wine has a unique smell unlike anything else out there. Most of their wines are on the sweeter side so if you like sweet this is the place to go. Even here they are unique as they have a great initial sweetness, but after you swallow you don't have that sweet aftertaste. You could easily drive by this place as it's on a main road, but don't do it!!!! The wines here are incredibly good. See more..

    Arrigoni Winery image
Out for a little relaxing and some wine with my husband, the normal one we frequent was packed due to some rain that came thru. This lead us to our drive a little further. for us it was just another 15 minutes. Weather had cleared up and there was plenty of inside or outside seating available, in the sun or undercover outside. Nice to have choices. We went with the sun and there was a beautiful breeze. We got a tasting in the main building, hubby premium me the regular. we shared a couple but decided on a bottle of Rozy which we both enjoyed. we had some snacks from home and there was a guitarist playing which made for an awesome time. All the staff was super friendly, asking if we needed anything but not pushy. Answered questions and made for a great day. Raven took care of us once seated and she was a star employee and kept us smiling and made sure we had what we needed. Helped us to get a couple bottles to go and will definitely be back :) See more..
  11. 4.0 Hawk Ridge Winery (72 reviews)
    - A Beautiful Afternoon
    Thursday: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Hawk Ridge Winery image
I came here in the fall and it was gorgeous. We sat outside with picnic blankets and enjoyed the view. You can bring your own drinks and food but they also have delicious food on site along with the wine–which is tasty! It made for a beautiful afternoon out. I believe reservations need to be made for the outside tent area, at least that was the case for a Sunday afternoon in the fall. It was crowded a little inside when ordering, but there is plenty of room to socially distance outside. See more..

After the wine tasting we headed outside on their really cool (shaded) outdoor patio, complete with a food truck and games! Brewery vibes meets a classy beautiful vineyard. As soon as you come on to there property, there is a huge wow factor looking at the building and land. Highly recommend this, and plan to return again! See more..

  14. 4.5 Lost Acres Vineyard (63 reviews)
    - A jazzy afternoon with wine
Thursday: Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Lost Acres Vineyard image
This is a great few-hour destination, with friendly staff and generous policies -- you can bring your own picnic and sit inside, covered outside or out on the lawn near the vineyards. On weekends, there are different entertainment groups. I went to hear a jazz combo, not quite realizing what a draw they are, and/but the ambience was great; I stood at the bar for a tasting (5 tastes for $7 including your glass), decent dry wines. When a table opened up, I ordered a cheese plate and a glass of hearty red and enjoyed the music with an appreciative (and even dancing!) crowd. I plan to organize an event there for a group of friends--it's good for couples, friends and groups. See more..
  15. 4.0 Jerram Winery (50 reviews)
    - Lovely Visit
    Wineries & Vineyards
    Jerram Winery image
I stopped in here on a Sunday when they opened at 11am to enjoy a nice day outside with some good wine. There were plenty of tables outside and parking available to allow people to space themselves out well. The person inside doing tastings and selling the wine was very knowledgeable and friendly. He had great recommendations for dry red wine and even gave a small taste before we bought a bottle. The space was cute and clearly a well run family business. Also the bottles were extremely well priced, especially in comparison to other wineries and how expensive they can be. See more..

Absolutely beautiful delicious to the eye and my camera. The vineyard sits behind the produce stand. The red barn in the distance is a picturesque backdrop for the rows of grapevines. Wish we coul stay around for the wine events. See more..

    Walker Road Vineyards image
We just happened upon this winery while taking back roads through Connecticut and we’re pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, friendliness and especially the quality of the wines. We bought a box of cheese and crackers and a flight and went on the rear deck to find both were really good. The winery has crafted a blend of local grapes with some imported to offer a great red and white that we would purchase in a minute. Give it a try and you too will be impressed with the the setting, the owners and conversation with visitors. See more..

    Savino Vineyards image
We went to a wedding in NY, so what did we do on the way home? Winery of course! This one is a drive from our house so we took the opportunity and it was such a good choice. We had been to Massaro Farm for a bee keeping seminar, and this place was just a short piece down the road. We were greeted immediately and invited to sit for a tasting- 6 wines plus a plate each of crackers, cheese, capocollo, and then a chocolate kiss. The wines were good! We chose the white that was a Pinot Grigio blend and it was mild but good. The first red was great- loved the fruit on the nose and in the glass. The last two reds were also really good- one with a peppery finish and the other with complex fruit and chocolate. We left with two bottles. We will surely go back. See more..

Rose vineyard is a great place to kick back and enjoy some local wines and appetizers. Both inside and outside are comfortable settings. We went on a Thursday night when they also make pizza's outside in a custom pizza oven. The pizzas are really good - all of them - we tried several. Obvious improvements they could make is to serve pizza every night, and to extend their hours past 8pm. See more..

  27. 4.0 Haight-Brown Vineyard (5 reviews)
    - True Casual Litchfield vibe
    Thursday: 2:00 PM - 9:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Haight-Brown Vineyard image
Connecticut’s oldest vineyard & winery is under new ownership! Haight-Brown's fields, cellar and tasting room are nestled atop a small, picturesque plateau just a mile west of the historic town Litchfield, CT. Each year we evaluate what the vineyard gives us and make decisions about how to best highlight that harvest’s bounty. Because no two seasons are ever the same, we never attempt to exactly replicate the wines from a previous vintage. You may notice subtle, or not so subtle, differences in our wines from one year to the next. And in some years, we may create completely new wines if that is the best way to present the fruits of our vineyard to you. See more..
  28. 4.0 Chateau le Gari (3 reviews)
    - Nice Hangout place
Wineries & Vineyards • Wine Bars
First I want to correct the other review, Gary used to own Priam Vineyards (Not Paradise Hills). Him and Carolyn were so nice and, they are open year round. The location is big and cozy, bring dinner and enjoy wine. Wines were above average for CT wines and I recommend the mardi gras wine, although they were all good. Gary has a lot of experience wine making and it shows in the wine. Will be back here. See more..
  29. 4.0 Joseph Preli Farm and Winery (2 reviews)

Joseph Preli Farm and Winery image
Visited here for girls weekend. Owners are very welcoming. They made us feel like one of the family. All their wines and hard ciders are made with home grown fruits. Very reasonably priced. No sulfates, gluten free, paleo. We tried all the wines and ciders. There is something for everyone’s tastes. The place itself is very quaint, including the outhouse. They have a farm stand too if you want to buy some of their produce when in season. Bring your own picnic basket. They process everything themselves on site! Amazing. My favorite was the blueberry wine and farm stand hard cider. See more..
