We are in CT for a family emergency but always make an effort to go to a Brewery or Winery wherever we are. This is a great stop!! The tour was extremely comprehensive! Really appreciated a focus on the barreling process and not just the distilling process like many places do. All of our questions were answered. Also, unlike others, there was no pressure to make a purchase (but of course we did!!) If you’re in the area (or close we were about 40min our) this is a great stop! Maybe eat before hand as the pourings are generous and copious! Thank you for making our sad trip from Alaska have a bright spot! See more..

When you drive down the gravel road and hang a right in the bus parking lot, you'll think you're lost, but you're not. Park by the sign and head on in to the 1920s Speakeasy. The atmosphere will have you asking for Gatsby, but I bet the whiskey is better. I am not a whiskey drinker, but there wasn't one sample I didn't like. The bartendress was so interesting and informative and we had a lot of fun with the other patrons. If you go, and you should go, pack some snacks and bring some friends. You can also do a tasting of their whiskey from beer casks- a very original experience. And that bottle in the picture- you need to taste that!!! See more..

  7. 5.0 Full Moonshine (3 reviews)
    - Our New Favorite Spot
    Wednesday: Spent 1-2 hours Distilleries
We went to Full Moonshine Distillery a few days ago and we are still talking about it. It is a family owned business. Everybody is very friendly and helpful. It is a small cozy, rustic place. They give you four shots of moonshine with the tasting and four small drinks made with the moonshine. You can bring your own food to snack on. They do not charge for the drinks with the hopes that you will buy some merchandise. They have the moonshine for sale ,of course, along with T-shirts, shot glasses and a couple of other size glasses. All at reasonable prices. I think it is going to be our new favorite spot. See more..

My mother lives in the area and stopped in one afternoon to purchase a gift card. The staff was very friendly and welcoming to her and showed her around. While visiting from out from state, my husband and I stopped in for a tasting and tour on a Saturday afternoon. Laura was very informative as she explained the different liquors. Blake, the mixologist did a wonderful job preparing our cocktails. While we were there, Ted, the founder came in. We enjoyed talking with him and about his journey to get where he is today. During our tasting we tried three different gins, a bourbon and a rye. They also recently started making some vodkas. Everything was very flavorful and smooth. This place has a really nice tasting room with several tables and couches. While we were there a large group came in and the staff did a nice job accommodating their needs. I look forward to returning during my next visit to CT. See more..
