4.5Farmer Joe's Gardens(55 reviews) - My favorite farm stand and store Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops • Farms • Farmers Markets
When the earth, the community, and family come together, something beautiful happens. Here at Farmer Joe's Gardens, we grow food the way it was meant to be eaten: naturally from the earth and in harmony with our neighbors. This farm has been in our family for 80 years, and Joe is a fourth-generation vegetable farmer. We're continuing a long tradition of food that's good for you and good for the planet, and there are endless ways to benefit. With Rent The Chicken, you can enjoy fresh eggs from chickens in your very own backyard, all without the commitment. Or you can join our Farmer Harvest Program, in which you'll be a part of our farming community and receive a bounty of the best produce available every harvest. And if you’re looking to add a touch of natural beauty to your home, our Garden Center offers a variety of show-stopping flowers and plants. Our family looks forward to bringing a little of the earth's magic to yours.See more..
A hidden gem! This was my first visit since the place was remodeled. I was pleasantly impressed, from the beautiful plants, gourmet baked goods, fresh produce to the speciality food items. There displays were eye catching, each little corner and nook had I reason for being there. This quaint shopping adventure made me feel like I was on vacation. I found the prices to be reasonable for the high quality of products they offer. I am looking forward to many more visit to this Milford GEM.See more..
3.5Heirloom Market(8 reviews) - Fun historic quirky setting, good food, fabulous seeds (and plants in spring) Spent < 1 hour Flea & Street Markets • Farmers Markets
My son and I have loved Comstock Ferre since he was small, and the addition of the cafe makes it even better. This is in a century old seed store and still looks like it, with old scales and wooden seed stands, but serves yummy modern food (with gluten free options!) like delicious avocado toast, enormous cookies, coffee, smoothies, juices and salads. My son has been having fun here since his first spring festival when he was two or three, but we recently asked a family with a 6, 9, and 11 year old to meet us there and they all had a great time. Plus Baker Creek seeds has the best selection and germination rates I've found.See more..

3.0Griffin Garden Market(1 review) - Closed on Mondays Speciality & Gift Shops • Farmers Markets
While driving around we spotted this and a sign that said "Fresh Pies." Because of our ongoing pursuit of pies we quickly turned around. Unfortunately they are closed on Mondays but we did look around. The property is cute and a further peek inside indicated a there is a gift shop as well. In addition to pies they advertise cookies, ice cream and produce. Looking forward to tasting their goods on our next visit. See more..
We happened upon this by accident as we drove down Boston Post Road. It’s located in front of Westbrook’s municipal building, on their spacious front lawn. We were very impressed with the variety of speciality food items. This was fresh produce, of course, but you could easily pick up some fresh breads and desserts to help make your shoreline weekend more memorable. There was also a BBQ meal available there in the parking lot. We especially enjoyed talking to Maurice and learning about his Mugger’s Marrow Stick ‘em up! Marinades. He had me at mango habanero Bloody Marys. Word of caution: if you’re driving north/west down Route 1, the entrance is before the market. We didn’t know about the market, saw it, and made a spontaneous decision to attend, turned in accidentally in the exit. We were scolded, might I even say severely berated, for our mistake (even after admitting it) by the maple syrup lady., despite the lack of crowd 20 minutes before closing. This New England welcome is the reason for the 4 star, not 5 star rating. See more..
5.0Gresczyk Farms(1 review) - Great fresh vegetables & a wide variety of plants Spent < 1 hour Farmers Markets We stop here regularly for fresh vegetables all season long. Absolutely excellent corn and strawberries in season. Small store but good selection of locally-made specialty food products including preserves, frozen & refrigerated items, milk, etc. We've also bought our Christmas trees here for the past 3 years. Friendly people, excellent quality, good prices.See more..
4.0Enfield Farmer's Market(1 review) - It's Back! Wednesday: Farmers Markets Enfield Farmer's Market operated for several years on Wednesdays and its late afternoon and evening hours may have worked for some, but it was dwindling. Now. it's back on Sundays from 10am-1pm, and the town seems to have provided tables, tents and a lot more space, no longer at the Pond, but now on the Town Green, at N Main and Rte. 5. The vendors are invited to sell their goods with no spot cost, and admission for shoppers is free, family friendly and a fun activity. But, the best part is getting to know the local vendors, who have businesses in town or close by, and who are friendly and helpful, offering many more things than the old one. There is a lack of produce there, but what is there is beautiful and affordable. We got curly kale for $2, and zucchini, eggplant, and yellow squash for $3 each. We recommend these two vendors get cards made so we can review them and bring them more business. There's jewelry, crafts, bath products, masks, beef, soup mix, ice cream, produce (we need more), and freshly baked pizza. And more. We bought a raspberry-chocolate jam at another spot, and tasted it last night--absolutely fresh, home-made and delicious. We will buy some beef next time from Collins Powder Hill Farms, and maybe even go out to the farm in Enfield for other products. These also sell/deliver compost and soil. Wow. We loved Barb Gibson at Super Soups, and had a lovely chat with her about her ingredients. She was researching oils, so we told her to nix Canola and get to know Sustain, the non-GMO sunflower oil. She was friendly, receptive and caring, and that will make us loyal customers. Her 30 minute soup mixes look awesome. Welcome back vendors. We will be there every Sunday till you close September 27, and now that we know you, we will also visit your businesses. Shop local! And thank you to Enfield Town. You did this one right.See more..

5.0Greenfield Hill Farmers Market(1 review) - Local secret Farmers Markets There are a number of farmers markets in Fairfield County, and with very few exceptions, they are steadily becoming more expensive. There's nothing wrong with the quality of their produce, but Fairfield County seems to demand high prices. So far, Greenfield Hill Farmers Market has avoided this problem; their produce is excellent - fresh and seasonal - but is reasonably priced. In addition to three fruit and vegetable stalls, this market includes an excellent bakery, and stalls selling eggs of all shapes, sizes and colors, Belgian Waffles, honey, flowers and CBD. (I may have missed a few.) We've been shopping here for years - every Saturday. Strongly recommended.See more..
Meet farmers, chefs and artisans amongst the vineyards Local residents, weekenders, savvy chefs, and tourists flock to the lively market that pops up outside this picturesque Connecticut vineyard, in the rolling Litchfield Hills. Every Saturday, July through October, market tents cast their shade across an extraordinary variety of fruits and vegetables as well as prepared foods- there is even musical entertainment as well. Take some time and step inside the rustic tasting room and try some traditional European crafted wines and maybe purchase a glass or bottle to enjoy as you stroll through the market or picnic overlooking the vineyards.
