Neat to Watch

Though I don't know if I would call the Mystic River Bascule Bridge an attraction, it is right smack in the middle of downtown Mystic (a great place to walk around). We were actually able to see it open up a few times over a couple of days, and you couldn't help but stop and watch the process (or the cool boats go by). So, though I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to go see it, if you are in downtown Mystic, it's worth it to stop and watch the bridge in action.

    Cool draw bridge
    We watched the bridge operate and it was interesting. It raises at 40 after each hour from morning to late afternoon. It takes about 5-10 minutes depending on how many boats are going through. Grab an ice cream and enjoy the show.

    Cool bridge!
    I love watching this bridge rise and fall every time I am in the area. Not sure why, but it fascinates me. Really neat to see. It goes up at 40 minutes past the hour from 7:40 AM until 6:40PM. The area itself can get super crowded so just be aware.
