2 Star Places To Visit in New Mexico, United States (9)
2.5Roswell Mall(12 reviews) - Empty Store Fronts Small Food Court Spent 1-2 hours Shopping Malls The mall is an older small mall and shows signs of its age. I counted at least 12 empty spaces. Food court, if you want to call it that, consists of a couple of shops. The mall has seen better days but with the closure of the Air Force base decades ago many merchants in Roswell seem to be hurting. However, I must admit that the merchants in the mall are certainly trying to make a go of it. See more..
Cash only and hours are fairly sporadic. But we finally managed to drive past with the open sign on and cash in hand. What a treat. It's a straight up old time ice cream parlor. It used to be a drug store with a hospital on the second floor. The original owner, Roy, passed away in 2013 but there are new managers. Best part is that not 2 days before we finally made it inside, Ghost Hunters stopped in. Not sure I can share the details the managers told us, but needless to say, we got the full scoop. See more..
2.5Tenpins & More(5 reviews) - Discrimination Bowling Alleys Very horrible assistance. Was told to continue playing pool at the bar just so I could get the worst customer service and discriminating treatment.See more..
2.5Infinite Possibilities(5 reviews) - A little bit of everything weird and wacky Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops Discovered this place on our Big 2015 Road Trip in downtown Deming. Our son is just getting into comic books and wanted to find a shop on our travels, and we were most fortunate to find this engrossing establishment. Frank is definitely not the "Comic Book Guy" of popular culture - he welcomes and encourages visitors' interest in the arts of graphic novels and classic comics. Boxes and boxes of collectible comics at all price ranges, plus a bizarre collection of pop culture ephemera and movie memorabilia - and the biggest selection of "Spawn" merchandise in the tri-county area! If you're in the area, drop in for a while for a few minutes of friendly (legal) mind-bending.See more..

2.5Aztec Municipal Golf Course(2 reviews) - Very Enjoyable Municipal Golf Course Spent 2-3 hours Golf Courses
While traveling to visit Aztec Ruins National Monument, we happened upon the Aztec Municipal golf course, just a few miles south of Aztec, New Mexico. This course was formally known as Hidden Valley golf course. The best feature of this municipal course is the staff. They were friendly, helpful and accommodating; we cannot say enough about how well we were treated here. It is nice to visit a golf course where the staff clearly cares about the experience their customers are having. The course is an 18 hole design that is enjoyable to play. This is not one of theses 7000 yard monster that beat you up, this course is designed for fun. We particularly enjoyed the front side with the four par 5 holes, three par 3's and two par 4's. Don't expect country club course conditions here, but the little town of Aztec, New Mexico does a great job keeping the course up and provides a nice golfing experience here. See more..
2.5Bosque Redondo Lake(2 reviews) - Looking for the Memorial but only found this. Parks
We drove out of our way to come see the Bosque Redondo Memorial site. All we found was this lake and camping/picnic grounds. As I understand it, there is a large memorial site commemorating the 7000 Navahos and Apaches that were interned here in the 1860s. Many starved to death here after a forced walk hundreds of miles from their homeland in northern New Mexico And Arizona. I read the book, "Blood & Thunder" a story about Kit Carson's life with the plight of the Navaho as a major part of the story. I wanted to see this area for myself, but finding the location using a paper map and the GPS in my car it took me here to this lake. We must have been close by, within a few miles, but there were no signs indicating where the memorial is. I most certainly would have wanted to see it if I could have found it. Instead, all we saw was this small lake with minimal camp sites and old picnic tables.See more..
My husband and I spent about 15 minutes at Power Dam. It is located inside the Janes-Wallace Memorial Park & Santa Rosa Softball Complex. The running water down the dam was pretty. We discovered the park by following some signage in town. We had never heard of it before. The place could use some cleaning up.See more..
2.0Elizabeth Warren 1886 Historic House(1 review) - This is a Private House! Historic Sites This is a private house. Please don't knock! It is lovely from the outside, though. It's also right by one of the best entrances to the "Big Ditch," which is a "must see" in Silver City. Feel free to admire the house, but don't disturb. The owners are lucky to live there, but maybe not so lucky to have people think their house is a tourist attraction!See more..
