I was amazed at all the different gardens there were to see. The heritage, the Japanese garden, the children's garden, and many others. Bring a water bottle because you do a lot of walking. There were places to fill your water bottles. People of all ages seemed to enjoy the gardens and aquarium. I enjoyed the lunch at the restaurant next to the aquarium as well. Bring a stroller if you have small kids. The ticket included the gardens and the aquarium. The zoo is at another part of this park and requires a separate admission ticket. See more..

The Santa Fe Botanical Garden strives to benefit all Santa Fe and New Mexico citizens, and our area's many visitors. The Botanical Garden is an independent nonprofit, not a part of the four Santa Fe state museums, with a commitment to affordable admission and providing monthly Community Days free for New Mexico residents. Our educational mission raises awareness of critical issues such as water conservation, climate change impact, and responsible gardening practices. The Gardens provides an "outdoor living room" where everyone can connect with nature, marvel at amazing plant varieties, and benefit from a place for contemplation. Visitors can relax under shading ramadas, discover a century-old red bridge, and explore the Art Trail, where changing exhibitions of sculpture will encourage return visits. With an array of native and traditional plants, awe-inspiring stone and metal work, and breathtaking vistas, the Botanical Garden is the essence of New Mexico. See more..

    - Hondo, New Mexico, Iris Farm and Gallery.

Hondo Iris Farm and Gallery image
I owe our visit to the Hondo NM Iris Farm and Gallery to my wife who said in a pleading tone of voice .. "You KNOW how much I LOVE flowers. Can we please visit the Hondo Iris Farm that is East of us here in Ruidoso NM?" .. "Of course we can My Dear One." We ran about five minutes late and the Gallery was closed. I am NOT into flowers. That being said, the Hondo Iris Farm IS STUNNINGLY MAGNIFICENT AND OUTSTANDING. IF you are on your way from Alamogordo, NM, to Roswell, NM, to visit the Aliens!, you are going to pass right by the Hondo Iris Farm! BUT IF you have not planned to visit it, you will whiz right past it and never know what you missed. You MUST know to look for it or you WILL miss it. Here is what I thought of it. I could NOT stop snapping photos. The flowers are absolutely amazing in their individual beauty. I had no idea that there we so many different Iris plants. IF your wife and or lady find out you went right past this Iris Farm you could be in a heap of trouble. See more..
