-A Carnegie Library still in use!
Libraries
We just walked through the library because of our interest in Carnegie Libraries and their architecture, and were pleased to see that the building is very well maintained. Several patrons were enjoying the light-filled rooms, and the staff was very friendly. I nice visit! See more..

-Great library

The modern Artesia Public Library supports life long learning, advances knowledge creation, and strengthens its community. It provides the tools and resources to support creativity, research, and problem-solving while asking and answering questions that challenge patron assumptions. Both the physical and virtual library spaces encourage patrons to engage with information, process it, reflect on it, have conversations about it, and develop new ideas. The Artesia Public Library is such a library; bringing people, information, and ideas together to create opportunities. See more..

-An excellent library with special historical collections
Libraries
As a former librarian myself, I like to visit libraries on my travels, and was impressed with the size of the library and scope of the collection, including an entire special collection of historical importance. The librarian at the front desk was helpful and friendly and made me feel at home. They offer a guest library card for visitors staying in Deming at least a month. See more..

- Johnsons of Madrid Galleries (0 review)
Thursday: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Art Galleries • Historic Sites • Libraries • Educational sites • Ghost Towns
Galleries of Fine and Fiber Arts This is the oldest, and largest gallery on the Turquoise Trail. We now represent over 100 fine artists and 50 fiber artists. The gallery was started by Mel and Diana Johnson, who met as students at the Art Institute of Chicago. Mel later taught figure drawing there, and architectural drawing at Texas Tech University. Diana has had her one of a kind dresses carried at high end department stores around the country. Today, the gallery is run by four generations of the Johnsons family. See more..
