Drove almost two hours to play this muni. course. It was worth the drive. Course is in excellent shape. Fairways and greens in great shape. My friend left a club there. They found it for him after we left. He is shipping to him at no charge back to his home in Texas. The nice person was Chris Jones. That's great customer service!! No wonder this course is rated in the top 10 in the country. See more..

This place is now called Club Rio Rancho, the golf course was reduced to 18 holes from 27, the dining experience is great, the price for membership is a bargain and the overall atmosphere has become pleasant again. New Mexico Tech Golf Course image
... this is said to be one of the best courses in the state. It's an oasis, beautifully maintained with a wandering stream flowing into a shaded pond full of ducks and geese. Locals & NM Tech students enjoy walking their dogs or jogging along the course perimeter. The restaurant has a lovely covered patio (dogs welcome) as well as a small indoor dining area. The food is simple, American & NM comfort food, sensibly priced and always fresh. Besides a few beers on tap, they also offer wine & some hard liquor. We like the smothered chili hot dog with fries. Inn of the Mountain Gods Golf Course image
Played Oct 29th. Front nine is fairly tight with tall pines lining both sides. Great elevation changes throughout the course. A couple holes have big mature trees right in the middle of the fairway which is a little odd. Course was wide open on a Friday in late October. We had the front nine all to ourselves but they must have let groups start off the back because when we made the turn there were two groups in front of us (which began playing #1 when we were on #18). The course was a great deal at the winter rates of $55 but don’t know if I would feel the same about the course at summer rates of $125. Course reminded me of some of the northern Michigan courses back home. A wonderful treat compared to some of the flat courses in the Southwest. See more..

  14. 4.0 The Lodge Golf Course (8 reviews)
    - Beautiful grounds and very helpful staff

    The Lodge Golf Course image
The course is at 9000 ft so unless you are pretty acclimated you will struggle with your breathing. The August day we went it was what we Texans consider "cool" at about 65 degrees. Carts are mandatory on this 9 hole course - you go around twice using different tees and holes to create an 18 hole game. Well cared for and a beautiful setting. Reasonable prices. My group had a wonderful day! See more..

    Tucumcari Municipal Golf Course image
Nine holes in a desert and mountain scene. Played the course in April of 2012 and the Fairways and Greens were in solid shape. The course has large trees, fairways with valleys, and a couple of the par 3 greens should be challenging enough for Phil Mickelson....cart, green fee, and you get to mingle with the pro out there who is a hoot - very inexpensive golf, really a deal for the money. The pro is very professional and my wife said the bathrooms were very clean. Suggest this highly !! See more..
  18. 4.5 Raton Golf Course (2 reviews)
    - Really enjoyable time

    Raton Golf Course image
The golf course was really beautiful, saw a few deer in the morning. Don't be tempted to pick up golf balls in what they some times call a water/pond hazard on the 1st hole. The water was non-existent on our trip and I walked right in to my knees of mud. It was really funny while I washed it all off back at hole 1 and started over. We have memories now of Hole 1! It's a nine (9) hole course that plays like 18. See more..
  19. 2.5 Aztec Municipal Golf Course (2 reviews)
    - Very Enjoyable Municipal Golf Course
    Spent 2-3 hours Golf Courses
    Aztec Municipal Golf Course image
While traveling to visit Aztec Ruins National Monument, we happened upon the Aztec Municipal golf course, just a few miles south of Aztec, New Mexico. This course was formally known as Hidden Valley golf course. The best feature of this municipal course is the staff. They were friendly, helpful and accommodating; we cannot say enough about how well we were treated here. It is nice to visit a golf course where the staff clearly cares about the experience their customers are having. The course is an 18 hole design that is enjoyable to play. This is not one of theses 7000 yard monster that beat you up, this course is designed for fun. We particularly enjoyed the front side with the four par 5 holes, three par 3's and two par 4's. Don't expect country club course conditions here, but the little town of Aztec, New Mexico does a great job keeping the course up and provides a nice golfing experience here. See more..

Course was not in the best shape, but it was December so I expected that. Played 9 holes with a cart, rental clubs, golf balls and tees for $29. Seemed like a pretty decent value compared to what I pay in Wisconsin. Course was not crowded. See more..
