This is a wonderful local museum. The history is easy to follow, and the displays are filled with interesting information. It’s clear the people who run this museum care a lot about their areas history, and it made me want to care too. I was really interested by a lot of the information they included, like the stories about the war and the Trinity site, Alamogordos early history, and the geology of the region (shown with hand crafted dioramas!). This is only open Monday through Friday and only 1.00pm until 5.00pm. If you are able to get here during the times mentioned, you are in for a treat. Large building with such varied exhibits that you will most likely be there for the time that it is open. There are many fascinating exhibits and the folks who are there provide a very in depth account of what happened in this area. Get off the interstate and visit, it is well worth your time See more..
