Saw this place mentioned in "Only in NM" and had to stop by while in the area a couple weeks ago. As they only open at 3pm, visited historic Lincoln, NM first, then back-tracked to this saloon. Typically, not the type of venue I would venture off too (not a biker bar person). Place was more crowded then expected! Some locals ventured in during my visit. Found out about this place on the internet and it was worth it!!! My boyfriend was shocked it was in a garage but once you went inside you were transported into a different realm/era. What a kool place to stop and enjoy a drink. Clean restaurant. I had the brat and my boyfriends chicken plate was smoked so well. It all smelled so Delicious!! My husband and I went to Pajarito Brew Pub to watch a Stanley Cup playoff hockey game. We have eaten at Pajarity Brew Pub on several occations in the past. The food was good but what made our dinner extra special was Brittany, our server. She was so friendly, and efficient that it turned an ordinary dinner out into an extrodinary expereince. She not only made us feel very welcome and well taken care of, it seemed she was taking care of most everyone in the whole restaurant with the same gracious and helpful approach. On the basis of some other tripadvisor reviews, we decided to stop in here for a bite to eat one Saturday evening while in Socorro My husband and I were not sure what we'd find or what kind of food they might have. We found a table to sit at. Many folks were already seated at the bar, chatting away. Sounded like local folks who knew each other....a rather western style "Cheers" atmosphere that night. Turns out they offered a choice of wings or a pizza to eat....(thin crust cheese or pepperoni). We shared a pizza and each had a beer. They also served other beverages. The place has been around since the 1800's. The eclectic decor on walls and ceiling was imaginative. Overall a funky, interesting stop for about 1 1/2 hours. The band was good, would have been great if their sound equipment was better, and the other people in the bar were fun. The bartender was very indifferent, didnt smile, and abrupt. When making the drink, it was a splash of alcohol and then the mixer. She did not even do a 2 count and most bars do a 4 count. I asked if that was all the alcohol she was going to put in and she said yeah. Then she charged $8. I just wrote it off as a bad/long night, since we did come 15 minutes before then band ended. We went back a week later for a bday party and exactly the same thing happened. Did not stay long and did not drink because of the bartender. Band was great! Go if you have a group and want to hear the band. Dont go if you want a reasonable drink... why pay $8 for a spriteSee more..

Oct. 2016. Not much to look at inside, 'cuz no longer an eats or patronized bar by locals. Run by Mary's granddaug., if memory recalls correctly. Do not be put off by inside - it used to be a focal point of town as a Rest., and a bar. Interesting pictures , etc. on walls, and even a pic of Mary, As of recently, locals do not support it - to buy a soda, beer, or water. A shame. Heard a lot about Cerrillos history and the Bar's history. Spend over an hour listening to her talk.Interesting lady. These old mining towns have a rich history, and Mary's Bar is one of the local places in America's past we don't want to forget. Remember, it's part of small town America. (Go to Casa Grande Trading Post from there; great jewelry mined and made by hubby and wife, and a small store.
