We booked the Rock and Raft package where we rock climbed in the morning and rafted in the afternoon. Our guide was Michelle and she was simply amazing. She was so friendly and patient. She took the time to help us first time rock climbers with the ins and outs of climbing. My son was very interested and Michelle took the time to explain the names of the different types of cracks and how to approach them when climbing. After rock climbing, we stopped for lunch. I was expecting sandwiches or something easy, but we were treated with an actual meal of fajitas. After lunch, we hit the river. While the water was lower due to it being late July, Michelle still made the rapids fun. We had such a great time and it was the highlight of our trip to NM from TX. Called this business on Saturday afternoon, left a message and received a call back within an hour! Was able to get details, secure a rental of two kayaks, fill out waivers over the email/internet and pick up our kayaks that evening for the next day river trip!! Super helpful, easy to work with, reasonable prices, knowledgeable about kayaking the area. Drop off on Sunday afternoon was equally easy. We had a BLAST on our whitewater rafting trip with New Wave in June 2020. They had just reopened following COVID restrictions, but had taken many proactive steps to make us feel safe and comfortable on our trip. They made accommodations so that my wife and I could have a trip by ourselves to further limit exposure. Our guide, Jesse, was very knowledgeable about the river and the ecology and geology that surrounds it. We did a morning run down the Racetrack course, which is not as intimidating as the name may have you believe. With a couple of good paddlers, a group of any rafting skill level could make it through in a relatively short time. We would heartily recommend a trip with New Wave if you're staying in the Santa Fe or Taos area. In our case, we stayed in Santa Fe, so drove up to the river, and after we finished, we continued the beautiful drive up to Taos and got lunch there before turning back towards our accommodations.See more..

Very welcoming and friendly. Wrestler's never had a dull moment the entire three days we were there. I would I would highly recommend family's, adults, sports teams passing through the Four Corners/Durango to camp at Tico Time. They will not be disappointed! Just had a great experience with Desert River Guides. We were in Farmington for the day and booked a 2 hour rafting trip. We happened to visit during a period of low water so we had a very relaxed, scenic float down the San Juan River. The staff and owner were very friendly and ensured we had a great time. The kids were able to swim in some areas and played with water guns on the raft. They also gave us some great recommendations for local places to check out for sightseeing and dining.
