    An amazing experience! My wife and I took 4 of our children on a ride with Ben and Kelly. They were excellent and experienced trail guides and hosts. The ride made our children fall in love with horses - 2 of them want to now learn more about taking care of horses, riding horses, and becoming experienced with training and riding horses. The horses at Tamaya are well taken care of and genuinely loved. Thank you so very much for an experience of a lifetime. See more..

    It would not be a trip to NM for us w/out a stop at the Romero’s for a ride through beautiful Cibola National Forest. This is our sixth year back and we have gone on everything from a one to four hour ride, in every season. I highly recommend a two hour ride for those who are just beginning or a four hour ride up to the waterfall for anyone who has ridden a few times. Winter is our favorite season to ride! Nothing beats being on horseback in bright sunshine and the crisp mountain air with a bare hint of woodsmoke from a home hidden in the trees below. There is a magical beauty to the patches of pristine snow surrounding lichen covered rocks dotted amongst the alligator-bark cedars with the occasional cholla sporting a yellow seed pod and grasses swaying in the breeze. Be sure to call ahead for a reservation and bring a carrot or two for Oakley, Kipp, Roni or one of the other gentle horses...and make sure young ones have a horse joke to share! See more..
