Known as the "Niagara of the South," the 125-foot wide curtain of water is dramatic day or night. But it's only at night during a full moon that you can see the moonbow, a phenomenon not regularly visible anywhere else in the Western Hemisphere. The park's many lodging, dining, and recreational opportunities make Cumberland Falls State Resort Park the perfect location for a family vacation, business retreat, or weekend getaway to the beautiful mountains of southeast Kentucky. The DuPont Lodge features 51 rooms, the Riverview Restaurant, meeting spaces, and easy access to the park's extensive trail system. Twenty woodland rooms and 25 cottages provide guests a more secluded lodging option. The 49-site campground, gift shop, horseback riding stables, Moonbow Cafe, playgrounds, tennis court, Olympic-size swimming pool, 17 miles of trails, and much more await visitors to Cumberland Falls - one of the "Nation's Finest" state parks! 2. 5.0 Yahoo Falls (77 reviews)
    - Yahoo Falls - Kentucky's longest waterfall drop at 113'
    Waterfalls
    Yahoo Falls image
This is Kentucky's highest falls at 113' and the geology is breathtaking. I recommend you take the stairs down and the trail up. This trail is not handicap accessible with a wheelchair. If you have young children this hike will be challenging, especially if you have an infant. You may be able to carry your infant in a backpack type of carrier and make it happen. Children ages 7 and up can handle the hike if you plan some rest time when you get to the falls. See more..

Very impressed! Wide blacktop path that leads to falls, great picnic area with clean restrooms.. Bring a change of clothes just in case you find yourself playing in the water, which I highly recommend you do! If you like camping this looks like a relaxing place to do so. They’re currently working on the camp sites, so hopefully they’ll be fully operational soon. ❤️⛺️ .....................,..,,......................,,,..........,,,,,............................................................................................................. 4. 4.5 Broke Leg Falls (7 reviews)
    - Beautiful waterfall
    Waterfalls
    Broke Leg Falls image
As often as I frequent the RRG/Slade area, I'm surprised I've never visited Broke Leg Falls before. It's a little bit out of the way but worth the drive if you're in the area (we drove from Zilpo and it took around 45 minutes). I was worried it might be hard to find or challenging to access like some things are in area. However, it was very easy to get to and is actually a county park. There's plenty of parking, it even has a parking lot. I wouldn't technically classify it as a hike though. Its a pretty easy walk to great views of the waterfall. It had rained hard for several days before we visited so the fall was massive, not sure what conditions are like in dryer weather. We explored for awhile and tried to find a way to the bottom of the gorge but eventually ended up in dead ends and had fun anyway. See more..

Trail entrance is across from parking. Don’t make mistake we did and hike to someone’s backyard. The trail is technical with stream crossings with rocks and roots. Need to rappel several feet near falls. No experience required but athleticism needed. See more..
  7. 5.0 Anglin Falls (4 reviews)
    - Beautiful Waterfall in High Water
    Spent 2-3 hours Waterfalls
    Anglin Falls image
Anglin Falls is a 75-foot waterfall in John B. Stephenson State Nature Preserve, owned by Berea College. A 3/4 mile trail leads up the creek to the base of the waterfall. We visited right after a good rain and it was really flowing, but the creek is small so can dry up to a trickle. It can a little difficult to find and directions online may be incorrect. From US-421, take Hammonds Fork Road to Anglin Falls Road. Go a mile and turn left a the sign. The entry road looks like a driveway but ends at a small parking area. Beautiful area and worth a visit. 8. 4.0 Seventy Six Falls (3 reviews)
    - Nice, peaceful waterfall

We always make it a point to stop to see 76 Falls when in the area. It is very peaceful. You do have to walk up a few flights of steps to be able to see the falls from the side. At our last visit, we were warned by a local there to avoid the area at night. See more..
