We took a day trip to Lexington KY & Georgetown KY to antique shop. This was my first visit to Georgetown Antique Mall. The building is much bigger than it appears and has 3 floors full of antiques and collectibles! There is something for everyone in every price range. I am a (mostly) old photo and paper collector and there was a lot in this store. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. It's also in a quaint historic district with beautiful old architecture. The building itself is very old and I was also interested in the history of that too. The entire town is dedicated to antiques! So many stores, so many nice folks! The big red barn was my favorite! They really had some unusual pieces and the lady there was wonderful in explaining the many pieces! My favorite was the Mercantile! I will shop there by mail in the future!See more..

My mother and I attended their annual Christmas open house and thoroughly enjoy our afternoon. One of my biggest antique mall pet peeves is when booths are in such shambles that it’s a chore to go through them. Not so at this place. This is one of the most well-organized, cleanest and easy to navigate antique malls we’ve ever been to. The booths were tidy, you could see everything they had, and you didn’t have to rummage through stuff. The place is well lit, the bathrooms are clean, and the owners are super-friendly. As far as selection goes, they offer true antiques and collectibles…none of this re-purposed door knobs or driftwood stuff; it’s the real deal. Prices might be considered a ‘tad’ high, but I’m willing to spend a little more to have a better shopping experience (besides, they weren’t ridiculously out of line). On top of all this they provided hot cider and homemade fudge…nice touch. This is a very nice place…highly recommended!See more..

Stopped by on the week of the Derby. Owners were very knowledgeable about racing and the horse farms in area. Picked up a couple of old Derby glasses at a reasonable price and an old book on racing. I have done a lot of antiquing around the country, and this shop is HUGE, sitting right in the middle of this little town. :) They've been in the same location for about 25 years and there selecting is STUNNING. My husband an I were enroute to Maker's Mark and saw a small sign that said "General Store" in Bloomfield. Knowing we had time to spare, we took a 3 mile off highway to town. It was a lovely store, beautifully maintained and staff were very helpful. We made varied purchases. My husband is an avid movie viewer and saw a coffee table book on Jerry Bruckheimer. We learned that the building was actually purchased by Linda and Jerry Bruckheimer who restored the building to it's original architectural style. I believe they have made beautiful restorations of other town buildings as well. We highly recommend stopping in for a visit!See more..

Old store in downtown Cave City, KY. Two stores made in to one. Very crowded with stuff, priced for high end retail. I got the feeling it's just the last store to be able to step in. All others on this street are filled to the ceilings with stuff and closed. When I see stores like this, I get the feeling of visiting a horter. Why would someone collect literally millions of items and make them so high priced that nobody is buying anything. I seen 3 or 4 couples going in yesterday and not buying anything.
