4.5Cave Run Lake(93 reviews) - Lots to do Bodies of Water
Great lake for all activities. Its very clean and in areas without a lot of boat traffic, its crystal clear. The beach within Zilpo campground and the boat launch at this location were nice. We kayaked on the lake and had a great time. There's plenty of spots to pull off, get out and swim. The lake was plenty large enough to feel like there was plenty of space to kayak or canoe even with boating, tubing, wave runners, house boats, etc. on a holiday weekend.See more..

Nice lake that isn’t over crowded. Good fishing but is a no-wake lake so limits water sport activities. Reasonable day use fees. This is a local setting for us so we never had stayed at campground. Very picturesque lake. See more..
4.5Grayson Lake(8 reviews) - Kayaking Bodies of Water
I’m giving this five stars because the natural beauty was awesome. We were really disappointed in the amount of trash the “butane and paint sniffers” left behind at the beautiful grottos and falls hidden location. We had heard about the trash, so we brought a trash sack and grabbers. I wish we had brought a second sack we went on a weekday in September and had the entire place to ourselves. Unfortunately, we picked up over 20 cans of butane and spray paint cans, along with lots of bottles and cans.Sad that such an amazing wonder is treated so poorly. I would be afraid to paddle back in there on a summer day if there is that amount of aerosol abuse going on ♀️See more..
My husband and I had a great time camping for a week at Dog Creek. The park attendants, Mr and Mrs Brown, were super nice and very accommodating. The park is very beautiful and well kept. On our last day there, Mr Brown actually came to our camp site multiple times to assist us with getting a camping pass for my disabled husband. They went above and beyond to make sure that our stay at the camp ground was nothing less than perfect. I hope to see them back again next year, as we will be returning. Thanks again Mr and Mrs Brown!!!See more..

5.0Lake LIberty(3 reviews) - ove Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water
Lake Liberty is a wonderful place to go canoe, kayak, and fish. Trails around the lake are excellent places to view native wildlife. Since combustion propelled watercraft and swimming is not allowed, Lake Liberty is a peaceful place to get away from it all and reconnect with nature. It is open to the public from 6 AM – midnight 7 days a week. Fishing is welcome, must have a valid fishing license.See more..

5.0Kentucky River(1 review) - Worth the drive Bodies of Water There are many places to view the Kentucky River, and great recreational facilities scattered along the shore. My favorite spots are the High Bridge park south of Wilmore Ky and Harrodsburg road (US 68) from Lexington to Harrodsburg. Drive very carefully! The river has carved steep cliffs in the limestone, you will quickly go from moderate curves to hairpin curves as you descend to the river level and climb back again. Combine your Ky River trip with a stop at Shakertown off US 68.See more..

Fish Pond Lake is a pristine man-made lake, located one mile west of Payne Gap off U.S. 119 in Jenkins, KY. Once the site of a mining camp, the valley was dammed and flooded in 1961 to create this shining centerpiece of the 895-acre Little Laurel Park. It has ATV trail access. The lake is home to freshwater jellyfish, a resident trout population, bass, catfish and other Kentucky species.See more..
