Apple Valley Hillbilly Gardens and Toyland is a throw back to old by-gone tacky roadside stops that existed in the 1940s -1960s. There is an old Gulf gas station and store (museum) and a toyland with over 3000 toys in a working diorama. Take a walk around the eclectic junk art and Hillbilly Gardens. We are located one mile east of I24 exit 16 on HWY 68 W. See more..

Just beautiful! We enjoyed seeing the house as well as the gardens. They are working in some areas but what we saw was great. My favorite was the large silver basket. I couldn't take enough photos . I loved the car and just about everything we saw. It was a wonderful experience to visit. It was a nice walk and we really enjoyed our visit. The lady that works in the office was the only person in the house when we visited. She was a joy to talk to and we really enjoyed our conversations with her. I will visit again when we are in the area or close by. I want to see the butterfly we were told they will be getting. I highly recommend this attraction. See more..

  6. 5.0 Adsmore House & Gardens (26 reviews)
    - Interesting museum . . . not like others

    Adsmore House & Gardens image
This museum changes their theme at different times of the year, focusing on an aspect of the family's life who built and live in the home. I like the way it is kept as a "living" museum. For example, as you go there, you are welcomed into the home as a guest just as if you were visiting the family in the day. The home has many neat features and the docents are extremely knowledgeable. My favorite theme is when they have the "wake", remembering a loved one who has died. They usually bring the old embalming table and the old hearse to the home and that is definitely something you'll remember. Adsmore also has a nice gift shop with a variety of exclusive items and they even have a meeting room with restrooms and a small kitchen for meetings, family gatherings, etc. See more..
  7. 5.0 Boone County Arboretum (2 reviews)
    - 121 acres of Trees and Flowers and Sports

    Boone County Arboretum image
There are few places in the Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky area where you can see such a unique arrangement of diverse plants. Encompassing 121 acres, the Boone County Arboretum is also known as Central Park, and was the nation’s first arboretum within an active recreation park setting. The specialized arrangements of plant families and 12 athletic fields are connected by a 2 mile winding multi-use trail. Don't let the inclusion of sports throw you off though - the beauty and educational value of these plant collections, including obscure selections rarely observed by the public eye, will captivate everyone from the avid plantsman to the average homeowner. The Arboretum is Accredited at Level IV (the highest level) by the Arbnet Accreditation Program, a recognition held by very few other arboreta in the region. Pets are welcome in most areas of the Arboretum, as long as they are on a leash and picked up after. See more..
