We did glacier cruises, water rafting, hiking, bus tours, and glacier trekking in Alaska, and I want to say glacier trekking is the best. We got to step on the glacier, taste the ice, and drink the glacier water. We are a group of 14 people with young children and teens. Our guides, Kandel and Taylor, were very patient with us from the beginning to the end. They also provided educational information that the kids felt they were fascinating. Betsy, our tour guide was wonderful. She made the glacier hike a memorable experience for our 11 year old son and us. I would recommend Nova over Mica guides. We had a flat tire and missed our prepaid glacier hike with Mica guides. Mica had spots available on a later tour the same day but wanted us to pay $300 again to rebook. Be careful if you book with Mica in advance. They will take your money and throw their nonrefundable policy at you. Nova on the other hand gave us a 10% discount because after learning about the day we had without us even asking. Nova also does not charge full price for children under 12. Nova is a company with great customer service. Highly recommend them!See more..
First trip to Alaska and this was our first choice of excursions once we flew in and it didn’t disappoint us!! Wife was alittle uneasy about seadoos in the ocean but after 20 min you couldn’t pull her off.. The staff is patient and truly love their jobs.. The machines, dry suits etc are all top of the line as they buy new water craft every year.. You running on the water for 3 hrs with stops along the way allowing plenty of time to see the sights. If it’s real cold or just cold blooded ask for a onesy fleece suit to wear under your dry suit. You have the choice to drive your own ski or ride 2 up if your not sure about controlling your own ski. I’m 61 and have done a bunch of whitewater trips over the years, including the Grand Canyon, all the canyons of the Rio Grande in TX, New River in WV, West Canyon in Utah, the Oconee in TN and a bunch I can’t remember. Six Mile beats them all. It has big features, sweet canyons, and is very technical, not to mention completely gorgeous. Scott and the guys at Flow AK are beyond expert and professional — the best I’ve ever encountered. The dry suits we were provided were the best I have ever seen, and they definitely kept the cold and the water out. Our small group worked on safety and working together, then we had fun! Professional airline jet pilot and ex instructor here. Verne has got an absolutely excellent outfit here. He was able to provide a short introductory float plane flight for myself whilst my travel party were whisked away on a great scenic flight. His instructors are professional, knowledgeable, friendly and all business. The aircraft are well kept just like the rest of the facilities. We were provided with exactly what we requested. My instructor knew exactly where to go for the weather to get the most flying for my $. Having been on both sides of both small fans large flying schools and airlines, I can highly recommend Verne and AFR. For anyone who is new to general aviation (aka little planes) they are limited by weather more so than large aircraft, so we had great results by calling ahead and discussing our requirements! The old saying -“if you have time to spare, go by air” springs to mind. Definitely worth a visit!See more..

Setting up the hunt was easy from the start working with Misty. She sent us recommended gear lists which made things simple if you're bringing your own camping gear. The contract was straight forward and if I had any questions she was always happy to answer questions or put me in touch with one of the other members of the team. Upon arrival to their base camp we were immediately given an update on fly times and what to expect as far as weather. The pilots were incredible and very informative. Arrowhead Outfitters went above and beyond when a piece of equipment got left on the shore. Outstanding group of people and our group cannot wait to do another fly-in hunt through them.See more..
