    Must-do in Nashville
What is "The circle"? What is country music to people today? We decided to visit Grand Old Opry, and it paid off. Old Opry is an institution but one with standing ovations, new talents, old stars, and virtuosity. We had seats in section 2, row L. The seats at the back are cheaper, and screens will make sure you can see the recording, but you're not in the Grand Old Opry to watch a recording. Those last $15 do make a difference. Drinks are expensive and nothing can be brought from outside (a purse is the maximum). Parking... there is plenty of free parking at the mall. Do go!

    Lifelong ambition to visit
I fulfilled my wish to visit the Opry and it was really everything I thought it would be,,,and more. We didn't arrange a tour but were able to pick one up easily when we arrived and did the back stage tour which gave us views of the dressing rooms and culminated with going on stage and seeing the 'golden circle'. Unfortunately we could not time our trip to attend a show but .... gives me an excuse to go again! Was a fascinating trip. I would recommend using the public transport from Union St (about 5-10 minute walk from Broadway), No 4 bus if I remember. cost us $3 for an all day bus pass. Takes about an hour and you have to walk to the Opry either through the Mall or around it, but takes only a few minutes.
