  2. 5.0 Santa's Village (1.240 reviews)
    - A Great Family Spot!
    Amusement & Theme Parks
    Santa's Village image
Santa’s Village is a terrific place to spend a busy and fun family day. The grounds are spotless and the staff is friendly and helpful to all. There are plenty of rides, shows and activities like the alphabet hunt are fun. Kids can collect letters on punch cards by stopping a elf statues around the park and then turn their cards in fora “diploma” from the elf university at the end of the day. The rides and activities are geared to a good mix of ages. We had kids from 5 to 10 in our group, and there was more than enough for everyone to enjoy. Food is always a killer at these types of parks, but from our experience it was pretty good and affordable. We had pizza and drinks for our group of ten. The pizza was made to order and the cost was about $75 - pretty fair. They were also celebrating Halloween, and several locations around the park had small treats for the kids. And finally there’s the man himself, Santa Claus. He was terrific with the kids and they all had a good visit without feeling rushed. Pictures are available. This is a must-visit when on a trip to the White Mountains. See more..

What a fabulous time!! We did the winter ziplining tour with a group of 10 people. We had 4 guides and they were all fantastic!! The military vehicle that brings you to the top of the mountain is so much fun. Be sure to buckle your seatbelt or you WILL end up in your neighbor’s lap !! The tour lasted close to 2 hours and included 6 ziplines I believe. Highly recommend as long as you’re not afraid of heights or speed! See more..

    Prescott Park image
I don't know how anyone can be lackadaisical about this park. It's right on the waterfront and has fantastic views. There's an enclosed formal garden with brick walks, fountains, and beautiful trees as well as a nearby large public garden. There are several monuments and a few historic buildings. There's plenty of seating and shade, cool breezes, beautiful landscaping. It's an arts venue in the summer months with live music performances and plays. You can walk to it from downtown. You can board the gundalow from it for an afternoon or sunset harbor sail. It's beautiful any time of year, even in winter. See more..

    Whale's Tale Waterpark image
Staff was incredibly polite, courteous, and helpful. The park was impeccable and well kept, lifeguards appeared tentative and alert and professional. When we arrived at 10:20 am on 8/19 we were a bit shocked to see the long line for bag check/park check in but we only waited in line about 15 minutes as staff was able to quickly but thoroughly check bags. The park is small and navigable enough to easily ride every attraction more than once but spread out sufficiently to not feel crowded. This was my family’s first visit but it won’t be our last. We had a blast! See more..

  14. 4.5 Livingston Park (207 reviews)
    - Nature in the city
    Parks
    Livingston Park image
The trail around the pond is a 1 Mile loop, makes it easy for planning a workout. Plenty of parking, public restrooms which are usually pretty clean, and trash cans near the bathroom building. There's a pool open during the summer (for residents) and a playground open all year. I usually see some wildlife - turtles, ducks, fish, and other little wetland critters. A lot of people bring their dogs, but most obey the leash laws. The trail is fairly level, not many roots or rocks to trip on, and well maintained. You can wear sneakers if you don't have hiking shoes. I have also seen some people out in flip flops and they do fine... It does get pretty icy during the winter after snow gets packed down hard on the trail, wear ice cleats on your boots! It's pretty quiet, you can't hear much road noise even though the highway isn't far. Overall, a great place to get a dose of nature during any season, even in the city! See more..

Good trip! We arrived at approximately 5 pm, payed the small entrance fee and made our way inside the park. The park was very nice and clean, and contained several bench/table areas that one could sit and relax on. There was a looping trail around the lake that provided gorgeous views of the lake from multiple standpoints. The park also contained a building that had restrooms in it. Tip: I recommend spending 45 minutes here if you truly want to see everything. See more..

Benson park is an amazing place to go for a walk, take the kids, go to the playground, take the dog, have a picnic, take pictures and bird watch amoung other things. This place was a zoo back in the day. It has been renovated and is simply magical for kids. Lots of the old structures are there, gorilla cages, the old woman in the shoe display, the swan pond (you can always see turtles hanging out). The park is well maintained and lots of fun. Only down side is there are no public restrooms - only porta potties. Yuck! Maybe soon the town will get real bathrooms up and running. The dog park is a great attraction there as well. See more..

    SkyVenture image
This was a fun adventure! Took the surf class and it is great for those ready to take on a physical challenge! Would make two small suggestions for improvement. The pre-class needs to include a demonstration, even if it's a pose or two done outside of the water. Since it's about learning at first, the pics don't exactly come with smiles - more like concentration. LOL! Suggest the instructor occasionally ask 'Are you having fun?' to maybe get a smiling pic. 23. 5.0 Mount Washington State Park (109 reviews)
    - Gorgeous Short Hike In Alpine Tundra
    State Parks
    Mount Washington State Park image
I drove the Auto Road to the summit of Mt. Washington. While at the summit, I stopped by the state park’s information desk and got some information about a short east hike in the alpine tundra. The parking area is less than a mile from the summit. The walk is relatively flat at first. The landscape is rocky with grass and flowers mixed in. It was a beautiful landscape with great views. The trail continued down a steep slope with a flatter trail beyond along a high ridge. I chose to stop at this point since the return hike would be more strenuous than I had planned. Even the short hike is worth the stop. I highly recommend talking to the rangers and finding a short hike to fully enjoy this beautiful place. See more..

The parking lot was closed when we arrived, it is apparently only open on the weekends right now, but we parked with BBC a few other cars in front of the gate. It really is a neat old abandoned fort with a few buildings that you can explore. If you’re on the island, you may as well stop by. There are a couple “beaches” there, but you wouldn’t want to swim. We stopped here to stretch and enjoy the vistas at this park. The parking was $10 and well worth it to the extent those fees support the park. There were trees and some picnic benches. We walked along the edge to a concrete pier where we saw the lighthouse in the distance. If we had more time, we would have visited the beach. See more..
  30. 4.0 Bear Brook State Park (51 reviews)
    - Beautiful, quiet, and surrounded by nature

    Bear Brook State Park image
this review if for Bear Brook campground. Absolutely beautiful campsites, and the staff are friendly and amazing. Great biking and hiking trails, with a small beach and pond to Kayak. Many areas to fish. What I love most about this campground is that there are areas that are rent only areas- honestly I wish more campgrounds were like this. There is nothing nicer than being away from big RVs, it’s so much quieter! I had an issue with someone visiting my tent (human, not animal) in the middle of the night, and upon bringing this up to management, they reacted immediately and were very professional. They made me feel reassured. They really make the effort to make this the best little campground, and you can tell. Thanks to all of the staff, and keep up the amazing work. See more..

    Greenfield State Park NH image
Campsites were nice. But, although they do allow dogs, you are not even permitted to drive to the parking lot for the lake with your dog in the car. Neither are you permitted to leave your dog inside your camper. There is a trail that you are permitted to use with your dog. Otherwise you are permitted to remain at your campsite with your dog. Would not recommend, or stay again. See more..

I should start by saying that I personally do not scare easily so that is why I say that it was fun and not scary! I jumped/screamed once, however my sister who I would say is not scared super easily but is definitely more on edge than me was screaming, jumping, clinging to my arm and hiding her face on several occasions throughout most of the exhibits if you will. I found it to be very enjoyable. I had a good time and would definitely do it again. I would say though, to get the most out of the hay ride, I would suggest not sitting near the front. We sat there and saw everything and everyone coming that would scare the rest of the riders. See more..

    Candia Springs Adventure Park image
My experience at Candia Springs Adventure Park was great! The course was exciting and fun for a family event. Our tour guide, Eric, was very attentive, nice, helpful and encouraging. The crew helped explain everything to us and kept us on track throughout the course. They give off a positive vibe and add even more fun to the experience. Some of the pods on the Adventure course were difficult but the guide was always there to explain how to go through the obstacle. It provided a good challenge. The Zipline was very fun. The employee Kendall, was very kind and energetic. He explained how everything worked and made the group feel confident. I would definitely recommend this to people who want to have a good time outdoors! See more..

This is one of the better waterfront parks I've seen. It's only one block down from Wolfeboro's main drag and has wonderful views of the lake, mountains, and boats. The gazebo is very picturesque. There are plenty of benches and it's a great picnic area. Came here while the park was closed for Covid, but you can park on the street and walk the trails. Knowing that it isn't a super popular park and lesser known, our expectations were pretty low, and figured we'd check out the ponds and trails and just get some exercise. Well, we were SO pleasantly surprised that the campground was really nice and the sites were beautiful, many near the ponds, and well spaced. There are many ponds to explore with your kayak or canoe, much wildlife, and plenty of quiet space to roam the woods on the network of well groomed trails. We found a couple of remote camping spots that were to DIE for. Also, you an portage your kayak/canoe from pond to pond. As we bought a camp in the area, this is a place that we will visit frequently when it actually opens again. There are no amenities here like camp store, but they do have newer pit toilets all over the place. See more..
