4.5Echo Lake State Park(190 reviews) - Winding Down the Day at Echo Lake State Park State Parks • Bodies of Water
Good trip! We arrived at approximately 5 pm, payed the small entrance fee and made our way inside the park. The park was very nice and clean, and contained several bench/table areas that one could sit and relax on. There was a looping trail around the lake that provided gorgeous views of the lake from multiple standpoints. The park also contained a building that had restrooms in it. Tip: I recommend spending 45 minutes here if you truly want to see everything.See more..

4.5Pawtuckaway State Park(166 reviews) - Pawtuckaway Fire Tower hike is well worth it! Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM State Parks
We hiked the Pawtuckaway Mountain Fire Tower from the Reservation Road/ Deerfield side. The hike is fairly short, about an hour round trip. We has fantastic visibility. There were numerous hummingbirds, soaring hawks, lots of lady slippers in the woods...in all, a perfect little afternoon hike.See more..
4.5Crawford Notch State Park(163 reviews) - Gorgeous foliage at Crawford Notch State Parks • Waterfalls
Magical foliage, beautiful tranquil lake in the mountains, gift shop, picnic tables, safe parking and several easy trails are waiting for you at the Wiley House Historical Site in Crawford Notch State Park. Lovely spot along picturesque Route 302 to walk and relax. Next time we will hike Aretusa Falls Trail (we didn’t have time to do it this week but the views of Frankenstein Cliff from the parking lot were worth a short stop.See more..
I drove the Auto Road to the summit of Mt. Washington. While at the summit, I stopped by the state park’s information desk and got some information about a short east hike in the alpine tundra. The parking area is less than a mile from the summit. The walk is relatively flat at first. The landscape is rocky with grass and flowers mixed in. It was a beautiful landscape with great views. The trail continued down a steep slope with a flatter trail beyond along a high ridge. I chose to stop at this point since the return hike would be more strenuous than I had planned. Even the short hike is worth the stop. I highly recommend talking to the rangers and finding a short hike to fully enjoy this beautiful place.See more..

The parking lot was closed when we arrived, it is apparently only open on the weekends right now, but we parked with BBC a few other cars in front of the gate. It really is a neat old abandoned fort with a few buildings that you can explore. If you’re on the island, you may as well stop by. There are a couple “beaches” there, but you wouldn’t want to swim. 4.0Bear Brook State Park(51 reviews) - Beautiful, quiet, and surrounded by nature State Parks • Parks
this review if for Bear Brook campground. Absolutely beautiful campsites, and the staff are friendly and amazing. Great biking and hiking trails, with a small beach and pond to Kayak. Many areas to fish. What I love most about this campground is that there are areas that are rent only areas- honestly I wish more campgrounds were like this. There is nothing nicer than being away from big RVs, it’s so much quieter! I had an issue with someone visiting my tent (human, not animal) in the middle of the night, and upon bringing this up to management, they reacted immediately and were very professional. They made me feel reassured. They really make the effort to make this the best little campground, and you can tell. Thanks to all of the staff, and keep up the amazing work.See more..
3.5Greenfield State Park NH(50 reviews) - Nice park, but not if you are travelling/camping with a dog. State Parks
Campsites were nice. But, although they do allow dogs, you are not even permitted to drive to the parking lot for the lake with your dog in the car. Neither are you permitted to leave your dog inside your camper. There is a trail that you are permitted to use with your dog. Otherwise you are permitted to remain at your campsite with your dog. Would not recommend, or stay again.See more..

4.0Pillsbury State Park(32 reviews) - Hesitant to write because I don't want this place spoiled! State Parks
Came here while the park was closed for Covid, but you can park on the street and walk the trails. Knowing that it isn't a super popular park and lesser known, our expectations were pretty low, and figured we'd check out the ponds and trails and just get some exercise. Well, we were SO pleasantly surprised that the campground was really nice and the sites were beautiful, many near the ponds, and well spaced. There are many ponds to explore with your kayak or canoe, much wildlife, and plenty of quiet space to roam the woods on the network of well groomed trails. We found a couple of remote camping spots that were to DIE for. Also, you an portage your kayak/canoe from pond to pond. As we bought a camp in the area, this is a place that we will visit frequently when it actually opens again. There are no amenities here like camp store, but they do have newer pit toilets all over the place.See more..
We have been here a few times and have enjoyed it every time. Parking was generously available. The visit center was closed as was the nice bathroom. There was a dirty discussing portable toilet. The trail is short and we’ll marked. The gorge is beautiful to watch with numerous little waterfalls. The trail is pretty rough so wear good shoes or boots. We’ll be back.See more..

4.0Hilton Park(27 reviews) - launch ramp Spent 1-2 hours State Parks
love this place but the launch ramp incline is too slight, with tides and wind the shallow pitch is difficult for launching. Love the travel around the area from Hilton but have to be very careful on the launch. Great parking, clean, easy on and off main road.See more..
3.0Silver Lake State Park(20 reviews) - Not as nice as when I was a kid. State Parks They shut down the beach for bacteria so check before you make a visit in the summer! It can get busy. If you're local, it's a decent place. I wouldn't drive any amount of time out of my way to come here.See more..

4.5Rollins State Park(16 reviews) - A U T U M N >>> A U T O B A H N Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM State Parks
This is the Golden Trail for foliage. A wonderfully narrow 2 lane road curving along the Mountain to the very top - for Four (4) Bucks! A few pull offs, a few sharp turns, a few picnic tables but lots of Fall Color. TIP: Fall Weekends may have delays as once the upper lot fills they go one car in for every car out. Get in early, go weekdays or go late.See more..

4.5Clough State Park(14 reviews) - Beautiful area, no dogs allowed Saturday: 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM State Parks • Parks
It's a very beautiful area in the summer, especially after the crowds leave. Unfortunately the state park has become crowded & noisy in recent years. Canoe rentals, beach, small picnic area, walking trail, fishing. Park fee is reasonable. State park employees cheerful, helpful, & keep the state park clean. No public bathrooms, however porta potties sre available. Contrary to other reviews, dogs are not allowed. Dog owners that manage to get away w/walking their dogs in the bridge/dam area don't always pick up after their dogs, so watch where you step.See more..

4.5Coleman State Park(10 reviews) - Cabins at Coleman State Park Spent More than 3 hours State Parks • Parks
Coleman State Park lies on the shore of Little Diamond Pond in Stewartstown, twelve miles east of Colebrook in New Hampshire's remote north country. The excellent trout fishing in Little Diamond Pond and nearby streams makes this park an excellent location for fishing enthusiasts, as well as hunting enthusiasts. Boat rentals and snowshoe rentals are available. With added ATV camping sites, riders are able to leave their campsite and head right out on the trails. Trails from Coleman State Park connect with the 1000 mile of trails for OHRV riding and Snowmobiling in Coos County. The campground at Coleman State Park offers 25 campsites, including sites for ATV camping with direct trail access.See more..
4.0Wadleigh State Park(10 reviews) - Quiet and peaceful state park State Parks • Bodies of Water
Perfect for those who want a little less crowded area. There were no motorized boats out which makes it great for those wanting a calmer and quieter kayaking, canoeing experience. There is a large area to go swimming and floating around if you bring floats. The bottom of the lake is somewhat rocky and there is an occasional branch here and there so I would suggest wearing water shoes. The sandy area of the beach is very small so you would end up putting your beach chair right next to the water. The bathroom and changing areas are nice and appear maintained well. There is plenty of parking and the walk to the lake is very short so if you need to take multiple trips to your car to get stuff, it won't take long at all.See more..

3.0Annett State Forest(3 reviews) - Relaxing Day of Kayaking on Hubbard Pond State Parks • Forests Hubbard Pond was much bigger than I expected. I had a great day of paddling and relaxing. I went in and out of the coves looking for nature sites. I was greeted by a heron right from the start. There were only a few other people out on the water other than our group. The road in was rough but not a problem. I didn't know that Hubbard Pond is part of Annett State Forest.See more..
4.5Forest Lake State Park(2 reviews) - Keep this a secret!! State Parks Wow! The place was so clean and the water so beautiful! There were loons and ducks, and plenty of room to spread out in sun or shade. A ton of dragonflies who took care of the usual mosquitoes and flies. Strange that the town is considering placing a landfill nearby. If that happens, it will for sure affect the water quality. I'm sure the loons will not like a landfill and its suppurating poisons and methane gas!See more..
