  1. 4.5 Hampton Beach State Park (1.380 reviews)
    - Winter Beach Day!!

As a family we love the beach. This beach we personally like coming to in the off season in the late spring and early fall or on an unseasonably warm February day, as we did for this trip. There aren’t as many people around and you can really enjoy your time without a lot of people around. In the summer it can get pretty crowded and although we enjoy it in the summer as well. We prefer the quiet of the off season! See more..

  3. 4.5 Wallis Sands State Beach (132 reviews)
    - Cozy and quaint

It's pretty cozy compared to other State beaches, like Hampton down the road, but it abuts the rest of Rye Beach, so you have the best of both worlds. In season, there's a snack bar, showers, changing rooms, a picnic area, and a place to buy beach toys and so on. There's not much beach area within the rock wall during high tide, so you have to plan accordingly or it can get pretty crowded, unless you cross over to the rest of Rye Beach. Great views of the Isles of Shoals, too. Wonderful place for a beach walk during low tide. Big parking lot. See more..

    - Great find

We decided to try a different beach and so glad we did! Less crowded than Hampton obviously since it’s smaller. Loved watching the surfers. Bathrooms were clean and no lines. We parked across the street behind the surf shop for $20 on a Thursday. I wish I thought to ask what it is on the weekends. The metered parking fills up very early. We will definitely go back to this beach. See more..
  5. 4.5 Seabrook Beach (74 reviews)
    - Best place for families with young kids
    Beaches

A little less packed than Hampton or Salisbury and caters more to the vacation rental crowd due to restrictive parking. This is a great beach, especially for families with kids. Seals are around in the summer time if you're looking out for them. Be aware of the horseflies/greenheads - due to the nearby marshes, they're prevalent in early summer and you should plan accordingly (screens on your cabanas, bug spray, bug traps, or stay near the water in the full sun). We found North Beach by a tip from a local friend. What a great place. There was plenty of room to stretch out as a family and the waves were great for surfing and skim boarding. The beach was clean and comfortable, we even brought our little dog Max. My family had a great time! Definitely a must visit! See more..
  7. 4.5 Allen Albee Beach (47 reviews)
    - Plenty of shade

Bases on reviews, we took a half hour trip on our final day vacationing at Lake Winnipesaukee and came up here. My wife loves shade and I love the beach and scenic views. This place checks off all the boxes. Incredible amount of shaded area only steps from the parking area and lake itself. Not too crowded on a gorgeous Friday afternoon, but plenty of kids enjoying themselves. So maybe not as quiet as I would like, but still peaceful and the scenery is what you would expect in the Lakes region. Also, some inviting walking trails which we did not partake in. No entrance fee or reservation required. No one at the gate, actually. Restrooms are closed due to pandemic. See more..

    - Nice beach, but very difficult to park if you are not a town resident.

If the parking situation were different, I would rate this a "5." But it's tough to find a spot. Too bad, although I'm sure residents think otherwise. See more..
  9. 3.5 Opechee Park Cove Beach & Opechee Point Beach (10 reviews)
    - Great for Softball
    Beaches • Parks
Can't say much else about the facility other than it had 4 very nice softball fields. Was there with our team for a weekend tournament and played all of our games there. Walked down to the beach once during a break. It looked nice. There was plenty of parking at the nearby school also. See more..
  10. 3.0 Carry Beach (6 reviews)
    - Shallow
    Spent 1-2 hours Beaches
    Carry Beach image
A decent sandy beach that is shallow for a good distance. Not that deep in width. Small parking lot. Don't go over the swim ropes on the right side towards the house or the inhabitants may yell at you even though they don't have the authority to. See more..
  11. 4.0 Chamberlain-Reynolds Beach Cove (1 review)
    - Nice hike through wooded area
    Spent < 1 hour Beaches
This is a nice, relaxing hike through a wooded area. After about 15 minutes you come to a quiet clearing which has a small sandy beach. We met several local residents who brought their dogs on the trails. Nice scenery, shallow water for swimming (great for young children). The trails were well marked and easy to navigate. See more..
