  1. 4.5 Cannon Mountain (422 reviews)
    - One of the best we’ve been to in NH
    Sunday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Mountains • Ski & Snowboard Areas

Cannon has something for everyone. The Tuckerbrook family area is great for beginners and the 2100 foot vertical is good for those more experienced. Cannon is best resort so far you get access to on the Indy Pass. I would go January through March as going in December left several runs closed and quite icy. That being said, it’s a lovely area with good runs. Rentals are like 50.00 though. Get the Indy pass and enjoy 2 days here. See more..

  3. 5.0 West Rattlesnake Mountain (217 reviews)
    - Great short hike.

    West Rattlesnake Mountain image
The West Rattlesnake Trail is relatively short (0.7 miles one way) and the elevation is not too demanding. Saw many families on the trail some with their canine companions. The view of Squam Lake at the top is beautiful. One caution, if you have small children there is a ledge at the top and children should be watched closely to avoid an unfortunate accident. See more..

    - Sunrise Hike

I did a sunrise hike today and it was absolutely breathtaking. Wore a nice cozy sweater and had a head flash light and was good to go!! I did the blue trail which the trail was relatively wide and rocky. Once you got closer to the top it was a bit more of a challenge and was climbing up rocks the rest of the way. The finish line was well worth waking up super early. I arrived at approx 4am and took about 45 minutes to reach the top just in time to catch the first light of the sun around 5:11am. Most definitely recommend this experience. See more..
  5. 5.0 Mount Kearsarge (56 reviews)
    - Rewarding and just the right amount of challenge

Pay to park, small lot. Reservations recommended, but we went on a rainy cold day so had no trouble without a reservation. Go up Winslow and down Barlow, very steep in spots, rocky terrain with slippery footing. We had no view due to the bad weather but found it spectacular nonetheless. Recommend proper footwear and lots of water. My 11 year old is used to hiking but I couldn’t recommend this to little ones. Took us 3 hours to complete the loop. Definitely had sore knees and ankles afterwards. See more..

Tripyramid is a beautiful but strenuous hike and is only recommended for experienced hikers - At one point the trail gains 2,000 feet in elevation in less than a half mile. expect the total loop to take about 8 hours See more..
  9. 5.0 Temple Mountain (1 review)
    - Fun Hike

We have hiked this mountain in all seasons. The grades are easy and the trail is not overly strenuous. You may opt for a sort hike or continue on the Wapack trail into Massachusetts if you are more motivated. Winter is my favorite time of year to enjoy this area. See more..
