I took my three children (14,12, and 7) on a whale watch 7/22/2022 - and we all loved it. It was a truly perfect trip, reasonably priced for a 4 hour ride and we saw multiple whales (minke, fin, and humpback) all over the place! We also saw a pod of dolphins, probably 30+ individuals. Amazing outing, excellent captain who continually positioned the boat in such a way as everyone could view the wildlife, naturalist on board who had lots of good info about the animals, and it wasn’t an overcrowded trip, either. We had looked at whale watch tours all over MA, ME, and elsewhere during our week plus vacation and we are so glad we went with Al Guaron! Highly recommended.See more..
A overcast day with a bit of rain. Not long out of the harbour we came across a large sunfish and the boat was skilfully manourvered so that we got a close up view of this large and strange fish. We then motored out to the area were whales are apt to be. Our first sighting was a brief glimpse of a finwhale which then vanished. However we then came across a number of humpbacks, 7 of them in one group. They were not feeding but loading about on the surface and slowly moving along. We also saw them slepping the water with flippers but some distance away. During the trip also saw a number of different seabird species. Crew were knowledgeable and helpful. Snacks and drinks on on board including some alcoholic. I tried hard Meltzer for the first time and decided I did not like it! Quite a run out to the area where whales are. Over one and a half hours each way so a long day. Also cold at this time of year so take plenty of layers.See more..
We went out on the Atlantic Queen II on July 11, 2012 and had an outstanding afternoon. It was a beautiful day, the crew was great, and we spotted 16 whales! I was very impressed with the cleanliness of this vessel (considering it is also used for fishing trips in the morning). We had a great trip out to Jefferys Ledge, the captian moved around as needed while communicating with other vessels to ensure the best possible experience for us. We are planning to take another whale watch trip later this season, and will return here. We had a wonderful afternoon and the price was very reasonable. Nice museum to tour while waiting for your train to go to the summit. Our brake man / tour guide was John. Very knowledgeable with facts about Mt Washington & the cog railway and shared some humorous stories too. Took rider questions. Dress for cold temps on top of summit, even if it’s warm at the base before you leave.See more..
Captain Jim Flanders takes you out to pull traps, measure and band lobsters. You leave with a lobster to eat and can buy additional lobsters at a very reasonable cost. We had a blast. Highly recommend this adventure.See more..
We had a great day haddock fishing. Captain Sam and crew were very motivated to get us fish. We made our limit, fish was cleaned and bagged for us. Boat was roomy and comfortable, i would highly recommend a trip with Captain Sam on the Kraken!See more..
