  1. 4.0 Charmingfare Farm (303 reviews)
    - Animals can be fun.
    Farms
    Charmingfare Farm image
Lower your expectations. The first turn off is that tickets can only be bought on line and it seems it is because when you purchase there is a processing fee: $4.75. That is outrageous for an all ready high ticket price of $22.00 per person regardless of age. The one person we saw at entrance/gift shop was friendly. There is no map or guiding sketch. She did share a list of animals to check for which turned out all were not visible. During our time we searched for pigs… not open due to new babies. We learned that as we exited because we asked. For sure there is a better way to convey any changes or adjustments for the day. The wildlife is a nice feature but quite a few cages were empty with no signs or explanations. Majority were hard to see. This place has potential to be a top experience, but currently is not worth the entrance fee, especially with the added fee. Also did not find the website clear on hours and days open. See more..
  2. 4.5 Moulton Farm (247 reviews)
    - Great experience on a nice fall day!
Temporarily closed - Closed until Mar 23, 2023 Farms
    Moulton Farm image
Our farm market is closed for winter. We will re-open in mid-March 2023. Find everything you need for great tasting meals and desserts in our farm market. Choose from vegetables we grow in our fields and foods we prepare in our farm kitchen and bakery. We also partner with other farms and small businesses to provide you with quality items including cheeses, seafood, meat, and poultry. Fresh seafood direct from the fish pier in Boston is available on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Freshly made cider doughnuts are available at the Cider Bellies stand in late spring, summer, and fall. In the spring and summer, our garden center has annuals, perennials, vegetable plants, and fruit trees that are well suited for the Lakes Region. In the fall, there’s plenty of fun to be had with our corn maze, pumpkin hunting, wagon rides, and more. Starting in late November, we have wreaths made here at the farm and freshly cut local Christmas trees. When are you coming to visit? See more..
  3. 4.5 Nestlenook Estate & Resort Sleigh Rides (213 reviews)
    - A Magical Evening

Nestlenook Estate & Resort Sleigh Rides image
What an incredible evening! From start to finish our experience at Nestlenook was a magical evening. The Mother of the operation makes the best hot chocolate. All the sons are amazing, personable and so helpful. The night we were there they actually held the sleigh for an extra 5 minutes for a family that was caught in traffic!! As we started our evening, Andrew poured our champagne and was a great host as he helped us on the sleigh. As Greg drove our sleigh through the woods, it started to snow making it even more special. Greg explained so many great points about the property. We had our first encounter with Nestlenook last year and we are making this an annual event. Reservations should be made for 5 pm or later as you see the property in all its splendor in the darkness. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!! Looking forward to next year already. See more..

Perfect store for produce. They have everything. When summer tomatoes come out, they have many unusual varieties. Samples are fun and always good. Their meats look really good and should be, for the price. Nothing is cheap here. I love the mediteranean pasta salad, and just looking around. They have a number of outside events, especially in summer and fall. See more..
  6. 4.5 Mack's Apples (115 reviews)
    - Apple picking for the win!
    Saturday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Farms
    Mack's Apples image
Beautiful place! The main location has a farm stand/ shop with local products to purchase as well as an ice cream stand. There is also a pond with picnic benches. Inside they had a table to sample the many different r kinds of apples so you can choose which ones you want to pick. Then you look at the map and find which (or all!) of the 3 locations you want to go to for apple picking. They are all very close- less than a mile. Friendly and helpful staff. We had a good time! 7. 4.5 Alyson's Orchard (87 reviews)
    - Great Experience
    Saturday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Farms
    Alyson's Orchard image
My wife, Golden Retriever, and I visited this orchard for the first time this year. Because of the summer drought, the amount of fruit was large, but the size was smaller than normal. Both Paula Red and Ginger Gold were available for picking. Peaches were already finished for pick-your-own. Nevertheless, the taste of a hand picked product can't be equaled. Another great experience! The size of the Cortland Apples appeared to be bigger so we will be sure to pick some of those, among others, when we return later in the season. Supporting our local agriculture is a key value for us. See more..

We had intended to pick some apples, but weather wasn’t to good & it was a little rainy & chilly. I asked if I could just go take some photos. It was no problem. So I did and wound us with fully wet shoes & socks After my husband and I came back in (I guess we could have picked our own) but wound up but a few from inside along with some other goodies. They have lots of other stuff inside besides apples. We enjoyed our stop and the apples too !! Oh the Apple Donuts are delicious as well !! See more..
  9. 4.0 Applecrest Farm Orchards (74 reviews)
    - Orchard Grill is cozy and tasty
    Saturday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Farms
    Applecrest Farm Orchards image
Dinner at the Orchard Grill recently has been really delightful: the chef has great specials and the core menu has choices for almost anyone. It’s casual but nicely presented and the fireplace has been a plus on cold Friday evenings. It’s a small room, but hasn’t been busy in the winter so it doesn’t feel crowded. The specials we had recently were Pad Thai one night and pasta Patriciana another. The pasta was a traditional recipe and had good pork flavour with parmigiana and not heavy in the tomatos. I had fried cauliflower that was some if the best I’ve had anywhere. Presentation is careful and it’s clear the kitchen cares about what they sent to the table. Oh - and the special cocktails are interesting and tasty and not weird. See more..

  11. 4.5 Wagon Hill Farm (44 reviews)
    - AN AFTERNOON OF SLEDDING FUN
    Farms
    Wagon Hill Farm image
Wagon Hill Farm has a gently-sloped hill that starts at the wagon and goes toward Route 4. It’s a great place for younger children to enjoy sledding in the winter. We went after a big nor’easter dropped between 12” and 18” of snow on Seacoast cities and towns. Others had gone sledding there before us, so the snow was compacted. Conditions were great. The children really enjoyed themselves on their saucers and sleds; and, we enjoyed watching them. Parking is limited to about a dozen vehicles. In the direction away from the wagon and hill, there are nice walking trails through a variety of habitats. Some trails go down to the shores of the Oyster River and Little Bay. In the better weather, a lot of folks walk their dogs on the main access trail that goes through the woods. If you found this review helpful, please click THANK below. See more..

  13. 4.5 Gould Hill Farm (40 reviews)
    - Original Rustic and Authentic
    Saturday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Farms
    Gould Hill Farm image
This is what an New England Apple Orchard should be. Rustic charm, family owned and original. When I want to pick apples I want the original barn turned into a store, a great selection of apples, hay, horses, and a little bit extra. What I don’t want is a glorified apple version of Disney world with a required reservation, motorcoach buses parked out front hundred of tourists pouring out for pictures. Gould Hill Farm is that working farm that sells fresh vegetable and fruits to the public. They have great baked goods, out of this world hard cider and traditional New England apple picking. This place is the real deal. It’s a real NH Orchard. See more..

You can walk around the whole farm and see the animals. One year, I watched a baby lamb being born. I stay in Farmhouse every year. It has a beautiful view of Monadnock Mountain. Friendly Farm image
Very interactive, so much to do, super friendly staff, and all for a great price. The farm was a little bit too far away for us to make a day trip out of it, so we stayed in a hotel overnight I made a mini vacation out of it and it was totally worth the drive! We held chicks, watched chicks hatch, fed goats and all kinds of birds, found eggs in the hen house (which you can purchase), bottle fed a calf, and there were many more animals to see. The goats are so friendly! I love that all the gates say “come on in”. It’s pretty cool that you can really just join all the animals. We will be talking about this place for a long time! See more..
