This place is fantastic for children. We got to bottle feed the goats, stroll through the butterfly garden, and ride the horse-drawn carriage. There are so many animal exhibits and playgrounds that the kids will have fun for hours. We didn’t get a chance to check out the shopping area but it looked so quaint. It was a very affordable day trip.See more..

Visited here on a delightful autumn day. The gardens and trails offer plenty of places to stroll or sit quietly. The Monet area was one of my favorites, and there was still plenty of color on a sunny day in October. I hope to visit again when the leaves are full and the flowers at their peak color.See more..
4.5Wamego City Park(63 reviews) - Looked amazing covered in snow. Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Gardens • Playgrounds
12 acre park with 2 acre fishing pond and modern playground. Several features to note: working Dutch Windmill (1879), statues from 1893 Chicago World's Fair (read: Devil in the White City). The Wamego Museum and historical village is nearby and morphed with the park. Children's train and depot. The park is the epicenter for festivals (Tulip festival, OZ Fest, 4th of July, etc).See more..
Lots of flowers and plants in well done, beautiful gardens. Always changing and evolving. They are just starting a section that will be the rose garden. Most of the garden has signs so you know what you are looking at. Lots of places to sit, BUT, not lots of places in the shade, so, if it's hot/humid, maybe another day?!See more..
We would have given it a 5 star rating, but the tulips weren't in full bloom. We went with a group of 14 and Tracy gave us a wonderful tour. She made the gardens come alive and filled in a lot of the back stories on each section. The backdrop of Lake Shawnee made it a wonderful day.See more..
4.5South Park(31 reviews) - The flowers are worth the visit.Free summer concerts are awesome.Playground for kids. Parks • Gardens • Playgrounds
I always feel safe and "at home" in this park. Nice to see kids on the playground, a great display of flowers, top-notch City Band Concerts in the summer (Free!) and plenty of special events that bring the town folks together. I also patronize a small but sufficient seasonal Farmer's Market here on Tuesday afternoons featuring local produce and vendors.See more..

We visited late on a Saturday morning and were warmly received by owner Mike and his staff. Mike shared so many useful tips on how to grow lavender back in my state that I'm going to give it a try. We were invited to take a tour of the farm and enjoyed it very much. We also found the gift shop full of great items to be irresistible. They have everything from soaps and lotions, to after shaves and dried lavender stems and buds. There's even an extensive collection of lavender seasonings to use in cooking, and lavender chocolates, too. The scent in the air was heavenly!See more..
5.0Chamber Music at the Barn(2 reviews) - Beautiful in Every Way! Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water • Gardens • Waterfalls
This is truly a Wichita gem. The programming of the concerts is fabulous, with world class musicians, and the setting couldn't be more gorgeous! You can take a picnic dinner to enjoy in the garden while watching and listening to the concert live-streamed from the barn. Or you can partake of the catered dinner before the concert. Or just go and bask in the glorious music in an intimate chamber music setting. An experience any classical music lover is sure to love!See more..
It's an urban garden. It's not worth visiting, unless you want to join the urban garden. You can walk around, but you'll just see vegetables growing. Again, it's a functioning garden, so it's not really pretty. Despite all the grass, this garden is not pet friendly.See more..
