    - A neat old house, but it's fenced off so you can't get close

Sauer Castle was a stately home in its time. Owners have tried to raise money to restore it but just haven't gotten anything going. It's fenced off at the street so you have to look from there. Reportedly views of the river from the back of the house are gorgeous. Would love to be able to tour the place, but I'm afraid it's probably not even safe to enter. Check it out online, you'll see about as much as you might by going to the house in person. It is in a quiet neighborhood and there really isn't any good place to park. See more..
  2. 4.0 City Workhouse Castle (4 reviews)
    - Abandoned castle

    City Workhouse Castle image
This castle was built in 1897 to be used as a jail for petty offenders. It was referred to as the workhouse because it’s prisoners were expected to work as part of their sentence. The jail closed in 1924 and was re-purposed over a dozen times before it was eventually abandoned in 1972. Across the street from this castle is also the abandoned public works building. Pretty creepy and cool, such a shame that it hasn’t been revitalized. See more..
