First of all, this is a GREAT theater for a show. It's big, it's spacious and it's so well designed that NO ONE will ever block your view. But the highlight is definitely the acting. The amount of talent in this city truly blows me away! A few years back I took a trip to New York City where I did a story on the number of actors on Broadway who came through MTW and a director actually told me that there's a saying in NYC that "The quickest way to Broadway is through Wichita, Kansas". I believe it! I just saw Rocky Horror there and was blown away by how great it was. The acting, the costumes and the direction was spot on. The only complaint I have is that the sound system isn't as good as it could be so many of the words in the songs were hard to understand if aren't already familiar with them. We were pleasantly surprised at the Topeka Performing Arts Center. We went for the Beach Boys concert and had chosen balcony seats since we weren't familiar with the venue. I'm short, so often floor seats are frustrating to me. The theatre floor seats were on a slanted rise and afforded everyone in them a nice view of the stage. If we had known, we would have gotten floor seats. Very nice facility. Seats were comfortable. Our view in Balcony B of the background screen and old movies shown by the band were obstructed by a speaker unfortunately which was a bummer. All in all a great concert thought!See more..

This modern state of the art live theater is a real surprise in the heart of this small high city on the high plains. A delicious fine dining meal is served before all main stage productions, and bar service is available. Though the plays and musicals are performed by amateur casts, I find the overall quality to be of high quality. Call ahead for show dates--there are periods when the theater is dark. I took my granddaughter to the Twilight for the Sunday matinee and it was our first visit to the theater..I loved the art deco decor which is reminiscent of the Warren Theater chain. Seating was plush and very comfortable..they actually reclined and there was more than enough leg room. We enjoyed the movie with a great sound system and large screen. When we were leaving we spent a little time talking to the manager who was very interested in our experience and quite courteous.. We will certainly be going back to the Greensburg Twilight Theater in the future!!See more..

I can't fault the employees of this bar for what the place is, a dark music venue. My complaint was that we were supposedly at a Christian concert and my ears left with a huge dose of cussing. I will not be back with my kids or by myself for that matter. It is very clean and kept up nicely. There is one main theater to see the movie. It seats approximately 90 people. There was a very small crowd of about 20. The seats were roomy and comfortable. I could hear and see the movie very well, and would have been able to from any seat in the theater. It is my understanding that they have a lot of independent films, documentaries, and movies that are award winning. The movies shown here are not shown at the local popular movie theater. This is a very cozy theater. Concessions are very affordable. Best buttered popcorn I've had in years. Ticket prices are affordable and even cheaper if you are a member of the Salina Art Center which is down the street. It is open every night but movie times change, so definitely check the website. Quite a few trains and a great layout. If you go watch where the trains enter and leave the tunnels. The people who designed and built this layout did a very good job. There is also an extensive display of old cameras and some great pictures. It is a community center and I would suggest calling ahead to see if you need an appointment.
