    Ringneck Ranch Inc. image
Ringneck Ranch®, Inc. is located on land that our family homesteaded in 1872, a time when the Cheyenne and herds of buffalo still roamed central Kansas. The ranch sits isolated in a pristine prairie valley looking out on the Blue Hills range. Keith and Debra have personally owned and have professionally operated Ringneck Ranch on the families 5th generation homestead since its inception in 1983. The operation includes over 10,000 acres of the finest native pheasant, bobwhite quail and prairie chicken habitat imaginable. Coverts, ranging from easily traversed thin strips of weeds to sprawling fields of chest-high CRP grasses, are managed with both the hunted and the hunter in mind. See more..

    - Nice local dairy store

Iwig dairy has been in the area for decades. This store is a fantastic reflection of their work! Fresh butter, milk, and ice cream...Monthly they have a different a different flavor of milk in addition to their regular offering. My favorite is the Root Beer milk...It tastes like the melted ice cream from a root beer float. They offer various types of butter as well. Jalepeno makes great grilled cheese sandwiches. The brown sugar butter is perfect for breakfast. Ice cream is usually available with the flavors rotating as well. Their white milk is the freshest, tastiest milk I have ever had. And their chocolate milk is rich and thick! Sold in glass containers, their is a deposit on the bottles, but the taste is noticeable! Try them out! See more..

Joe and Nancy Moore (along with their family) were awesome hosts/guides for our afternoon trail ride on the Kansas prairie. They have high quality horses to ride and they know the landscape like the back of their hands! If you have been disappointed in the past by "bumper to bumper" trail rides, you will be pleasantly surprised by the freedom and adventure that the Moore's facilitate. We enjoyed an added bonus of seeing a group of 8 white tailed bucks on their property. We would come back for sure! See more..

My friend Bill from Olathe,KS, took me to the ranch near little town Alma. It is around 100 ha (European measures) big ranch and owners drive you in a jeep among bisons ,where they tell you everything from biology to history of that endangered species. I don`t know how much costs that visit because my friend paid all the costs, but it is really something special and interesting. I reccomend ! When you will visit that ranch, you must visit Alma too. It is a really cude town ! See more..

We hiked the shorter loop trail, which wound around some interesting rock formations. This is a working ranch and you may see cattle on the trail. Give them a few minutes and they’ll move on. You will need to drive several miles on a gravel road to reach the trailhead, so drive accordingly. A passenger car should be sufficient in most cases. See more..
