    - Decent

Located on KU campus. Parking is a nightmare if you don't want to have to pay. KU is apparently unaware of a thing called hospitality for visitors. And half of the museum was closed for repairs. But I did get to see some nice art. See more..
  3. 4.5 Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art (44 reviews)
    - Worth a stop if passing thru
Saturday: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM Art Museums
Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art image
Located on the campus of Kansas State, free parking is immediately adjacent. A show by native son John Stuart Curry was up on our visit. The galleries are located on the second floor, necessitating a walk up stairs. As university galleries go/ this is modest. Seems like wealthy alums choose to keep their art rather than donate to their alma mater See more..

    - Amazing find for art-lovers in an unexpected place!

We did not expect to find an art gallery of astonishing quality at a community college, and were a bit skeptical when a friend recommended we stop here, but we're so glad we did! As I told the docents, you know that a collection is well curated when the building seems to have been built especially for the pieces on display. Our party of Mexicans and Americans enjoyed our time so much that we would have stayed another hour if we hadn't been on a schedule. We all left with a gorgeous coffee table book featuring the Oppenheimer Collection, and we enjoyed the first-floor gallery with a rotating exhibition of artists from the state of Kansas. Highly recommended for contemporary art lovers! See more..

This is a nice collection of art in a library. It's free, but the hours match up with the library so be sure to check. Most pieces are drawings or paintings, but there were some 3d pieces too. I really like the cat on a chair made from bronze and copper. It won't take long to see everything in this gallery, but there were so really nice pieces and it's worth checking out. See more..
