    I have traveled through Fort Scott many times on Highway 69, but have seldom stopped to see this historic city. The 55-minute trolley tour is a great way to get a narrated overview. You see the downtown area, numerous mansions dating to the 1870s and 1880s, Fort Scott National Cemetery, beautiful Gunn Park and the Marmaton River, and much more. You get a lot of bang for your buck: adult tickets are only $6; children 12 and under are $4. The trolley departs at 11, 12, 1, 2, and 3 from the Fort Scott Visitors Center downtown at 231 E. Wall St. The Visitors Center offers clean restrooms and free coffee. See more..
