  5. 4.0 Prairie Fire Museum (13 reviews)

    Prairie Fire Museum image
This is a privately funded museum with ties to Smithsonian Institute offering revolving exhibits and programs year round in the southern Kansas City, Kansas metro area. My husband and I enjoy going several times thru out the year as Great Hall exhibits are rotated in and out. We have taken grandchildren at times and they love the second floor which is a rotating "hands on" children museum revolving around nature and science. We appreciate it is a comfortable "outing" of 1-3 hours depending on how long we want to take. You aren't overwhelmed or feel you have to "race" thru to see what you want on any given visit. Parts of the museum facility are open to public for free and some exhibits are a fee admission. It is located in middle of a couple nice outdoor mall areas offering restaurants, movie theater, shopping, etc. No problem spending time in this area for anyone. See more..

MDCC began as the private collection of Ward and Brenda Morgan. Through their vision, passion and generosity the museum opened to the public in the spring of 2019 and later became a 501c3 non-profit organization. We are proud to showcase a stunning collection of over 65 cars ranging from 1907 to present day. The collection, while the most prestigious in the region, has something for everyone including custom cars, muscle cars, exotic cars and classic cars. Through our loaner network, exhibits are routinely rotated so visitors enjoy new vehicles with each visit. We are continually working to find innovative ways to share our love of cars with the Manhattan community. We invite you to pay us a visit, explore our programs or rent the venue and experience this outstanding collection first-hand! See more..
