    This was a first visit, and I'm very impressed. Horsethief is relatively new, as lakes go, beautiful lake, water is very clear for Kansas, campground is in great shape with a variety of options including paved RV pads, utilities, ADA shower houses, playgrounds, volleyball courts, disc golf, boat ramp with a lift to help handicapped folks into boats, nearby hunting accessible land, etc. Very well maintained and a gem in the middle of what many may consider fairly unexciting western KS. Not a lot of trees, although they've been planted, it'll just take a while to be shade trees, but many campsites have very nice shelters over or around picnic tables.
