4.5Wild Dala Horse Herd(90 reviews) - The Dala horses are so unique and FUN!!! Monuments & Statues
If you're near Lindborg pull off just to see the pretty Dala Horses that decorate the main street through town. They're unique, they're colorful and each one is a work of art. It's fun just to see the different themes each artist came up with. Be sure to read the plaques in front of each one to get a better perspective. See more..
The geographic center of the lower 48 is just north of Lebanon Kansas. We visited as part of a ‘ball of twine’ tour to see some of the unusual, offbeat, and kitsch places near us. There is a small church, a historical marker and some other signage you can take photos beside. You should go there just to say you have been thereSee more..
4.5World's Largest Czech Egg(81 reviews) - An “Egg-cellent” Stop! Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Monuments & Statues
Yes, I know my jokes are on point. My fiancé and I were looking for a gas station at like 11:00 PM and we stumbled across this 20 ft egg on this road in the middle of a small town. My fiancé swerved off the road and “scrambled” toward this egg without a coat on in 30 degree weather! Turns out this is the largest Czech egg in the world and the town has lots of cool heritage. Definitely “Czech” this out!See more..
Can't believe the detail that went into this work of art. Well worth the stop to take an up-close look. Take your time, you will see more and more things that you at first didn't know it was there. See more..
Very inspirational! And full of history. A very fitting way to honor the Kansans veterans both living and dead who served during the Korean War. The description and location of the battles in this setting made the knowledge of what all our men went through even more meaningful.See more..
Seems like a crazy expensive memorial to have. Worth the stop to view and share with others. It does seem out of place at the cemetery. See more..

4.5Truckhenge(15 reviews) - A quirky great fun detour on our road trip with very welcoming owners Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Monuments & Statues
My husband and I loved this place, we loved Ron and his wife Linda the owners. It’s great to have creative eccentrics out there still pushing boundaries and doing their own thing, and doing it with such great humour…we felt really welcome and were here almost 2 hours on a bitterly cold day! Ron is full of stories, he’s a genuine quirky outsider artist, full of jokes and funny asides. He walked us around his property showing us his chainsaw carvings, trucks upended in the ground, a row of graffiti painted upended boats, his shoe tree…and inside his incredible Quonset adapted home. Showed us his painted floors, his indoor garden, hand made cage elevator and art painted with household paint on to large hung bedsheets. This is proper American eccentricity, it’s a mad jumble from inside someone’s head laid out in a playful mess of fun and creativity and if you’re open to that kind of thing then this will be a treat for you. Long live Ron and Linda…we need more like them.See more..

4.0Miner's Memorial in Immigrant Park(9 reviews) - Neat and disapointing Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Historic Walking Areas • Monuments & Statues
I really enjoyed seeing the memorial since I was raised in Pittsburg. However I am SO disappointed that on one is currently active in maintaing the memorial or adding names. My Grand father, Wesley William Bennington was a coal miner and his nae appears in the South Radley mines. However I worked for months trying to get his name added or talk to someone that was familar with the memorial. I sent money to the address on the website but it was returned as not being a good address. I made several phone calls to the City of Pittsburg, but was not able to locate any one who knew anything about the memorial. So disappointing!!!See more..

Recently visited Great Bend and came across this statue. I'm sure locals wondered why we were looking at this and taking pictures of it! It was easy to find, right in front of the courthouse.See more..
We have been driving by this site for years and on July 4, we decided to stop and look around. From the street this doesn't look that impressive, but you have to park in the lot and see it for yourself. They have granite benches inscribed with names. The monument has a globe between two obelisks. Take time to read the meaning of the monument. The walkways have been designated as "commemorative walks" and join a major walkway directly in front of the tribute designated as "Freedom Walk". This site pays respect to multiple conflicts.See more..
4.0Pioneer Crossing Park(2 reviews) - Small park but Lovely full-size monument Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Monuments & Statues
Pioneer Crossing Park in Shawnee is a small historical park with life size 3-D stone and bronze monument of a pioneer wagon and pioneers near Santa Fe Trail crossing point. The town has made excellent use of a bluff area next to Turkey Creek. The park is very well maintained with beautiful landscaping. Walking from the parking lot, you go through a semi-circular quadrangle with information boards of the various trails crossing the area and about a few historical figures from that era. Then you come to the main attraction which is the beautiful monument of a wagon traveling the trails. Then the east end of the park has a set of steep stairs that leads to a playground at the top of the bluff. The whole visit could be leisurely enjoyed in less than an hour. Pioneer Crossing Park is a worthwhile stop for some pioneer history and to see a lovely monument.See more..
